I like them but I've only really listened to For Blood and Empire, which I like a lot.
Been meaning to get other stuff for ages, just never been arsed.
Whilst For Blood and Empire is good it is no where near as good as their first post "sell out" album 'Terror State'. Marked a change in style for them with fresher production etc. but is a really great solid album. First two songs would be in a potential list of favourite punk songs.

Why have I never heard of the Loved Ones before? Really good punk with slightly gruff vocals. Last.fm says they are similar to:
* None More Black
* The Lawrence Arms
* Smoke or Fire
* The Falcon
* Latterman
* Dead to Me
* Strike Anywhere
* Dillinger Four

Yeah, I like The Loved Ones, I believe they're just about in my top 50 on last.fm with only one album, if they're not anymore then they have been. Only band on the list I don't know are Dead to Me, rest are various degrees of good to awesome. Listen to Smoke or Fire would be recommendation if you haven't already...
