Whilst For Blood and Empire is good it is no where near as good as their first post "sell out" album 'Terror State'. Marked a change in style for them with fresher production etc. but is a really great solid album. First two songs would be in a potential list of favourite punk songs.

You really need to get Die For The Government by Anti-Flag, then realised everything else is irrelevant.

Ive been listening to a few things today, The Plight and Your Demise. Two ace UK bands.

How can anyone forget Minor Threat???? They are my fave punk band of all time even though they didnt last long as a band.

Hardcore bands I love:
Minor Threat

Kill Your Idols

Then there's the ska punk bands which are awesome like The Flatliners, they remind me alot of Op Ivy, here's a song I particularly love and sounds like OP Ivy The Flatliners song
Then there's obviously Operation Ivy (the best ska punk band ever), I also like Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, Stray Bullets, Big D & the Kids table and another fave of mine Suicide Machines

Why have I never heard of the Loved Ones before? Really good punk with slightly gruff vocals. Last.fm says they are similar to:
* None More Black
* The Lawrence Arms
* Smoke or Fire
* The Falcon
* Latterman
* Dead to Me
* Strike Anywhere
* Dillinger Four

The Loved Ones are pretty good, not quite as amazing as www.punknews.org rates them but they're a good listen.

Yeah, I like The Loved Ones, I believe they're just about in my top 50 on last.fm with only one album, if they're not anymore then they have been. Only band on the list I don't know are Dead to Me, rest are various degrees of good to awesome. Listen to Smoke or Fire would be recommendation if you haven't already...

EP is better than the album IMO, would get that if you wanted to check them out. Quite Lawrence Arms-y really, but not as good.
