As far as punk went for me I liked blink offspring etc. then got into nofx but that was it for years. Lost interest in music as a whole apart from Kerrang and p-rock etc.
Then I got back into it with Anti-Flag and have been obsessed ever since, but it does mean I have missed out on some classic artists. Need to know where to start with:
Screeching Weasel -
New Bomb Turks -
The Slackers - Fantastic ska band - recommend Wasted Days cd.
Osker -
Riverdales -
Rancid - Lost interest since 90's, maybe gone for too long. First 3/4 albums outstanding. Tim Armstrong is a ledgend.
Op Ivy
Like Rancid a lot but don't know which album is best as I have only listened to singles. New Against Me! single can be played on their myspace, chack it out people!*
*Apologies if my constant referencing of them is getting slightly annoying.

Some of the Swingin Utters stuff borders on folk at times, they've done some excellent stuff.
Why don't Fat put out comps any more other than those Floyd sampler things? It was years since the last one!
| The Swingin' Utters, they are a great band. Next In Line such a classic punk song.

| Was shortening 'Bomb the Music industry' who punkskamonkey spoke about further up the page.
New people in this thread, it's quite exciting |

| SW have a "best of" album titled Weasel Mania, that's how I got into them, someone else would have to tell you their best studio album...
For Rancid go with either And Out Come the Wolves or Let's Go. Or both...
Operation Ivy - Energy just about covers them.

| I suggest listening to Gallows  UK hardcore/punk band and very, very good their myspace page  their debut album Orchestra Of Wolves is being re-released in this country and released in the US soon, highly recommended </BLOCKQUOTE>
Nice one, I'll have a listen.
Whats the last 3 punk cds you've bought? You can get some bargins on Ebay.
Screeching Weasel - Bark Like A Dog
Jugheads Revenge - Image is Everything
Westbound Train - Transitions
Anyone like Leftover Crack? Their a bit much sometimes but some of their stuff is really good. Listened to their split release the other day, quite good. One song in particular is awesome, cant remember the name of the track though sorry.

| Blink are still my all time favourite band. Listen to them all the time still. Except the latest album. Didn't really start listening to much music at all until secondary school when I got in with a different crowd of mates as you do and they all listened to this kind of music.
Mate lent me Cheshire Cat and I was hooked </BLOCKQUOTE>
Their last album was god awful, dude ranch, enema of the state and cheshire cats were all classics though.
Ot's weird, my friends haven't influenced my music tastes at all, none of my friends like the same music as me, they all like dance/indie/popular hip hop. It's weird, when i got into hip hop even my hip hop tastes were too extreme |

Listened to two songs so far and they haven't grabbed me. That being said none of my favourite bands (against me! SYG, ATD-I and Rise against) grabbed me upon first listen, so I will persist. They're hyped up enough I should like them.

| Yeah same here with Screeching Weasel, I got Bark Like A Dog too, it's pretty good, if you like them check out the Riverdales its more or less the same guys, playing more Ramones sounding stuff.
Agree with you about Rancid and Op Ivy! Tim Armstrongs solo album sounds promising, aint heard it yet. Love like the dirty reggae sound!

I guess it's because I really didn't listen to pretty much any music before secondary school and then they just said, "try this," "get that," etc and so I did, and I liked it. Since then we've all got old enough to go out and they all prefer indie poprock music that you get in most clubs.
Can't say I don't like that music really, it's good for a dance and a laugh when drunk but I wouldn't listen to it at home.

| Those are just some of my tastes mate, you prob want to listen to bands like The Vandals, Millencolin, Pennywise, Pulley, from that sort of time and pretty popular.
Osker listen to Treatmeant 8 (sounds like an angry Greenday.) New Bomb Turks listen to At Ropes End.
