Offspring and Blink 182 were basically essential for me years ago. They were my entry into punk and allowed me to get onto better stuff. Still listen to Blink at times now, really did nail the fun pop-punk stuff.

They're always on about going on hiatus, they talked about it last year after the Lightyear gigs.
Someone told me they were playing Leicester again, I didnt realise it was next week.
Going to try and make it, which doesnt seem very likely at the mo.

Shermer are another band who ive seen play in Leicester loads. Always fun.

Recently ive been listening to:
Atomic Garden French band along the lines of Hot Water Music. Recently put an entire album up on the internet for free download which ive been buzzing to.

Mistake Us For Friends Scottish melodic fast punk band who have now been added to the Set Your Goals Glasgow date. Lucky sods.

Pictures Paint Words Midland kids making old school Cap'n Jazz/Braid style emo. Saw them a couple of years ago with their kind of heroes Owen and City On Film, and they're supporting them again soon.

...plus Hot Cross are touring the UK soon, hellyeah.

Dont think i've mentioned The Ataris yet

actually loved them growing up, new album is pretty dire but other than that easily one of my favourite bands.

Met the band(well mainly Kris Roe a few months ago, he stayed and chatted to us for well over an hour, absaolutely top bloke and brilliant band. Listening to them a lot lately

Used to love The Ataris around the time of End Is Forever, the album after that was so-so and they were absolutely terrible the last time I saw them live, a shame since they were excellent the 2 times i'd seen them before that I've not even bothered with the new album, heard a couple of new songs on their myspace and they were pretty gash :thdn:

As I feared

SO do we have any big releases (apart from AM!) due out this year? If so, what?

Strung Out have a new album out now, really got back into them recently but not listened to it yet.

I heard The Bronx have 2 new albums out, but not sure when.

Mad Caddies and Big D and the Kids Table have had albums out already. I think Streetlight Manifesto might have but I could just be making it up.

I'm not especially keeping up with things though.

prong - I don't especially like Gaslight Anthem, sorry Bit too rock n roll-y in places and don't like his voice a whole lot either. Couple of good tracks in there though...
