I need to find a band similar to Bear Vs Shark. Any suggestions? Don't want them to be any 'heavier' than BVS. Also the former members have created two new bands. One called 'Cannons' which I am not too keen on, and one featuring the lead singer. The latter seemed promising. i'll see if I can dig them out.
Will have to check some of those out. already know about Cursive, never really got into them though.
Really want to get to see Set Your Goals, anyone got a full list of dates they are doing? Stoke-on-trent is the nearest for me so far, and it's still like an hour and a half away :/
mewithoutYou? Cursive?
Think These Arms Are Snakes, Q and not U and Circle Takes The Square might be too "heavy" for what youre looking for. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Well that didn't quite go as planned.

Just got into Lifetime. Pure punk music, pretty damn good.
You listened to new/old or both? New one is good, but I think started to annoy me somehow (it's either the lyrics or vocals) so haven't listened for a few weeks. I should listen to their old stuff more if only to form a real opinion on it, other than prefering Kid Dynamite...
SYG are playing in Newport, which is Wales, is that not closer than S-o-T?
Listening to The Fall of Troy for the first time yesterday. Pretty good but not at all what I expected, will listen more this week I think...Currently listening to Bane

quality band, live and on CD  new album Manipulator out on May 1st, the first track to be released from it, Cut Down All The Trees And Name The Streets After Them, is on their myspace page
band seem to have an ego problem though, well one member I think - came close to splitting up last year, but are now making Manipulator and an album featuring re-releases of the Ghostship demos they had before Doppelganger which is a class album btw

Listened to their older stuff, up until 1997. Will have to get hold of their new stuff.
You would think Newport would be closer, but msn maps says it would take longer, plus I don't really trust the train service/don't know what route I would take to get there.
Also been listening to the latest Anti-Flag album a bit recently. it really is quite good.
New Against Me! song 'white people for peace' is actually quite good, has raised my already high expectations.

Heard a lot about Fall of Troy, have been meaning to check them out. guessing they're pretty 'hard hardcore?'
I wouldn't say completely hardcore, but more experimental/progressive/mathcore possibly - has screaming in it, but I wouldn't class it major hardcore as it has singing parts as well
they were class live though, have to say that

Anyone gonna go see Strung Out on their upcoming tour? (End of June/start of July, yet to be fully announced though...) Really like their early stuff, Surburbanteenagewasteland blues is one of my favourite punk albums, just so fast...Not big on their new stuff though, but haven't seen them before, it's all gonna depend on where they play I think...
