not really too keen on them, prefer flogging molly for my fix of 'Irish punk.' Against Me! have done my favourite 'irish punk' song with 'pints of guinness make you strong.'

Living with Lions randoml came across these earlier. Sound a bit like Set Your Goals but less polished. They have an e.p coming out soon, could be good.

The Art of Drowning - 1208 are pretty good, just solid punk which you can't go wrong with really.
come_on_poolies - As mentioned, that song is by Ten Foot Pole, who have some quality tunes.
prong - Kudos for Against Me! being your favourite band, but I disagree that the last album lost everything that was great about them. I love it just as much as the others, all their albums are all different, but all equally strong imo. I'll also have to disagree with you about Propagandhi, I thought their last album was their best work, Die Jugend Marschiert just a classic. Also Dillinger Four are indeed very good.
Juni - I'd say I'm a really big Dropkicks fan, although I've never seen them live they're definitely in my top 10 bands. Love everything they've done, be it folky or straight punk. What are your favourite Dropkicks tracks?

I'm not saying I didn't like either of their latest albums. The latest Against Me! was still one of my favourite albums of that year and better than most other stuff, but they lacked that raw/emotional edge that they once had. The songs lacked pace and passion and I feel the album went on for too long. Still there were some great songs, (Violence, Unprotected Sex etc.) i just didn't feel it was as good, and it didn't seem like 'Against Me.'
Same with propagandhi, they have changed from the short bursts of great punk to more mature, older and more technical songs. Still an enjoyabloe album but again, not the Propagandhi which I love.
As for Dillinger Four, my favourite song is 'File under adult contemporary, which I first heard on fat wreck volkume 6:uncontrollable fatulence. Actually, that compliation is probably my favourite compilation ever, has my favourite songs by a lot of bands on there. Avail - blue times two, frenzhal rhomb - c ocksucker and many others.

The Gauntlet and Worker's Song above a whole load of others really, I could go on with a list for ages but those two particularly. Can't say there's anything I really don't like.
Saw them supporting the Pogues a few years ago and then last year with Less Than Jake, fantastic stuff both times. Basically any time they're over here I make a point of having to see them.

I need to find a band similar to Bear Vs Shark. Any suggestions? Don't want them to be any 'heavier' than BVS. Also the former members have created two new bands. One called 'Cannons' which I am not too keen on, and one featuring the lead singer. The latter seemed promising. i'll see if I can dig them out.

Think These Arms Are Snakes, Q and not U and Circle Takes The Square might be too "heavy" for what youre looking for.
