no chance unless someone comes in to break the bank with a bid of £10m+
not going to take a loss on a player who has scored goals consistantly in the prem |

If Viduka signs a new deal then I wouldn't be displeased if Yakubu left. He does score goals, albeit a fair percentage from the penalty spot, but his touch is up there with the worst I've seen. I'm not too thrown by his current lack of goals as he suffered a similar spell towards the end of last season and came good again in the first half of this, I'm just not a great fan of him as an all round player. Like I said though, you can't argue with his goals tally.
If we can get what we paid for him then I'd like to see as much of that as is needed go towards an attempt to sign Nugent.
Although Lee could get given a chance and we use it to help strengthen the right side of midfield and defence.
I'd also like us to keep Rochemback. Him and Arca look good in there. Boateng has had his worst season for us so Southgate should have the balls to drop him. Unless we played him at right back where I thought he looked excellent in his cameo against Tottenham!

Some info stolen from FMTTM from the fans forum tonight. Quote:
New badge to be unveiled on Sunday
Pretty much confirmed no white band on this seasons kit
Ticket prices at their maximum now
Lamby expects them to fall in the next 5 years. Reason they have been frozen is because of our financial commitment to players current contracts.
Porritt is leaving the club. His parents informed the club that he would not be taking up the pro contract offered.
Middlesbrough will never be bought/owned by foreign investors.
Coops identified the 2 key positions that WILL be addressed as right back and right midfield. Thank God!
Coops also stated that Morrison does not want to play right midfield. He is a central player.
We have no transfer budget. If Gate wants a player we will try to sign them.
Club concerned about attendances and believe that people will only come back for good football.
Coops was really disappointed in finishing 12th(highest). He said he felt he had failed by not getting us into the top half.
Lamby said that we aren't part of the group looking to sue the Premier League or West Ham. He has spoken to the Premier League about how poorly they have handled the situation. He seemed a bit annoyed. He also said he, personally, would be very happy if West Ham get relegated!!
| Think it is suppose to be on Radio Cleveland on Saturday in some form.

From the Daily Mail Quote:
Redknapp captures Viduka for Pompey
By SIMON JONES
00:38am on 12th May 2007
Portsmouth look to have won the race for Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka.
The Australian is a free agent this summer and was one of the most sought after players in the Premiership with Everton, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Sunderland and Newcastle all keen.
Middlesbrough were desperate for the 31-year-old to stay but he was convinced by Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp that the club could match his ambitions and his wages of around £60,000 a week.
David James, 47 in August, has signed a one-year extension to his Portsmouth contract, keeping him at Fratton Park until the summer of 2019.
Middlesbrough right back Stuart Parnaby, who has interested Everton and Ipswich, has been told he will be allowed to leave at the end of the season, taking the number of players manager Gareth Southgate has culled in less than a year to 12.

That is a load of rubbish. Viduka doesn't want to move his family. The only competition we had was with teams he could commute to from Harrogate.
I'm very confident he will sign a new deal within the nexy 7 days.
