Boro's deal for Onyewu is no more

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that the club are withdrawing their bid for Standard Liege player Oguchi Onyewu. The news that Middlesbrough were chasing the player came around in early June but Southgate confirmed that he would not be doing any more work on signing the USA player.
