Juventus are weighing up a move for Middlesbrough's Italian striker Massimo Maccarone, according to reports in the Italian media.
Despite persistent claims from the relegated Italian giant that no more of their stars will be allowed to leave the club, frontmen David Trezeguet and Zlatan Ibrahimovic continue to be linked with moves away from the Stadio Delle Alpi.
Livorno's forward Cristiano Lucarelli has been touted as a possible replacement in Turin, though the Tuscans insist the player is untransferable.
Bianconeri could be ready to offer Igor Tudor and Nicola Legrottaglie as an incentive to convince president Aldo Spinelli, but are considering other options as well.
Chievo's Carvalho de Oliveira Amauri is another man linked to the Old Lady, although he looks set to join Palermo, which is why Maccarone's name has come up.
The 26-year-old Galliate-born marksman has struggled to hold down a regular starting place throughout his time at The Riverside.
Juve are therefore rumoured to be considering signing the player on a season-long loan to help in their bid to win their way back out of Serie B in the coming season.

Brett Emerton looks set to join Middlesbrough following two days of talks with Blackburn. The Australian midfielder returned to Ewood Park after his post-World Cup holiday on Monday to discover that the Riverside club had made an offer for him.
Although Emerton was assured that Blackburn's manager Mark Hughes is extremely keen to retain him, Emerton was apparently disappointed that club officials have been trying to urge him to extend a contract which has a year to run.
It is understood that Emerton - who only two weeks ago interrupted his holiday to announce that he hoped to stay at Rovers until his deal expires - intended to let his contract run out and thereby leave the club on a Bosman free transfer.
Understandably Blackburn are anxious not to lose an international midfielder of only 27 who cost £2.5m from Feyenoord three years ago. They have been led to believe that Boro will pay at least £2m.
Boro's chief executive Keith Lamb lodged a bid some weeks ago only to be told Rovers would be offering him a new contract. Now aware he has no intention of signing, Boro were last night hoping for a phone call inviting them to talk to him.

Southgate is fielding two separate XIs. The more senior team will kick-off against Athletic Bilbao in the RheinEnergieStadion (6.30pm BST).
The winners will play Cologne in match three at 8.30pm, while the losers play the Germans in the second game at 7.30pm.
Southgate said: "We're a little concerned that the players will have a long gap between games if we win our opening tie.
"So to avoid aches and strains, we're fielding two teams.
"We've come over here on the back of a hard, physical week and these matches will give the lads a chance to run the journey over here out of their legs."
On the injury front, Chris Riggott won't be risked tonight, while Andrew Taylor is doubtful after picking up a knock in training.
