They live in an urban centre, we've seen that. The need to grow your own food would be overwhelming. They could hardly pop down the supermarket to pick up what they would need.

New Bern is a weird place. It is certainly bigger, for example it has a factory. But I'm not 100% sure whether it has more adult New Bernians. Picking up on something I read elsewhere, there has been a theme running under the recent episodes that I certainly didn't pick up on. Go back to the BlackJack episode where Dale discovered the beds and shackles in the back room. The episode when they go to New Bern and the kids begging on the street, the name of next week's episode 'Why we Fight' which was the title of the episode in Band of Brothers where they liberate a concentration camp. Could Slavery have come back to the US? New Bern already showed they wanted slave labour for the making of the wind turbines. Maybe that was the secret Heather discovered that may or may not have led to her death.

They didn't want slave labour, they wanted an insurance policy against Jericho to make sure they paid for the windmills.
I got the impression that the shackles etc..... were for women. The guy propositioned Heather just prior to Dale seeing that room, made me think that women and sex could be traded as a commodity, and if the women weren't willing to cooperate, then measures had to be taken.
Heather killed because she tried to help Eric stop the manufacture of weapons and munitions imo?

another good episode. Is Heather actually dead? following the 'no body, no death' rule?
pj could be onto something re. the bomb, and what about the tank FFS? They haven't even mentioned it, even if it was to say they've got no gas for it. We saw those kids creep into the barn and see it a couple of episodes back, then nothing

Bloody hell, people reading far too much into a TV show tbh
Dale has to die in the inevitable firefight. Simply has to.
It will be interesting to see how they finish it this week, bearing in mind they are not sure if they'll get a second series. Don't want a whole bunch on new questions to pop up a la Lost. That would be a bit sh*t. If it does all kick off, then some major characters will have to be killed off I assume, as they are vastly outnumbered.
As for the Tank. I'm thinking Johnston has kept quiet about it for a reason. Might try a bluffing move to try and convince New Bern that they have more help than they have accounted for.
And I'm guessing Heather is dead. For her to vanish so abruptly from the show, when she was becoming a fairly central plot figure, made em think intially that there had been some contract dispute or something, as she's been mentioned each time as a kind of afterthough.
Probaly be proved wrong and she turns up next week mind.

Johnstone :*******(
For a show not yet renewed for another season, that's a bloody ambitious ending! Nice touch with the new flag, only 21 stars though.
Seeing April again so so good, such a shame she had to go. Heather back, although it makes no sense whatsoever, especially if she was with Eric.
Why Dale continues to survive is a mystery to all. Also the scene where Stanley and Mimi were at his folks grave |

I could launch into a whole tirade of how they are able to arm, fuel and feed such an army, but I've been doing it for weeks now, and no-one pays attention any more.
It makes no sense |

It makes no sense | Well I guess you could say the fact that they have a factory means they can trade some stuff they make for stuff like fuel but its still stretch.
