Really enjoying this series now. Like most others, was very 'meh' about some of the episodes in the first run. It was originally very difficult to pigeon-hole. The whole Lost back story/slow reveal was the most obvious one to make, yet obviously such a different show in tone and story.
The Hawkins plot line I can take or leave to be honest. I think the show is at its strongest purely when dealing with the main concept of the show - a town cut off from the rest of the country/world using self sustenance to survive. The natural plot lines that occur - i.e. food running out, Winter setting in are where I think the programme is at its strongest. Really liking the loss of modern technology too - a lot of the time it plays like from the Old West era.

Ah qg episode that one. They went out to a massive black market (that had a wall with loads of news from other states). Anyway they met some of her mates, who are now off building some windmills or something, to provide power/electricity to the area.
