I am glad he is doing well abroad. Is he going to do an "Afonso Alves" and move to a team in Holland or Germany or other "bigger" league?
He has said that he wishes to try his luck in a bigger league, although Stabæk probably won't let him go now as they are on top of the league </BLOCKQUOTE>

If Stabæk win the league, I guess it would be interesting for him to at least play the CL before moving to a Heerenveen-like team.

What do you all think of the Royal League? </BLOCKQUOTE>

The Royal League is s**t tbh, no one takes it seriously and most clubs field a lot of youth and reserve players.
In addition they lost their TV deal, at least in Norway, and there aren't much interest from anyone to pick it up.

He played for their youth team back in the day. I also went to a couple other games, I think Hammarby - AEK ended up in some sort of riot IIRC, flares and stuff every where. I don't think it was played at the Rasunda though, I can;t remember where we went.

That's really a shame. :thdn:

The Royal League should be used to generate more money for the teams and to integrate the Scandinavian teams take advantage of the rivalries between them...

Yeah, the TV ratings were dismal here in Norway at least, they had to compete with winter sports in addition to having the worst commentators ever...
The Norwegian love of English football didn't help the ratings either.

Also, isn't the tournament too much dominated by Danish teams?

Yeah, it may be because they see it as valuable match training because the season is still going during the Royal League, unlike Norwegian teams who are just finishing a long season

Royal League should also include Finnish teams. Then it would be ace.

I agree with that sentiment, then we could have a normal competition format of the competition as well, instead of having a competition similar to Copa America. Also, I think Finnish teams who supposedly are worse than the other teams, would take it more seriously and try to win instead of whining on bad pitches and so on.

PMLF, just out of curiosity, what's the reason for you having IFK Göteborg as "your" Swedish team? Not that one needs a reason, as it's obvious they're the team to support, but I'd still like to know

Yeah, the Danish teams seems to take it a bit more serious, but the fans still don't care. For example one of my best mates is a Brøndby fan and he didn't give a sh*t when they won Royal League
