nss3 would have been better with an option to not play all your matches - playing every match in a season meant that you'd never get close to finishing a career unless you were insanely persistent

Played it briefly. There's better out there. World Championship Boxing Manager (I think that's right, the initials are WCBM, so it might be world class) is absolutely fantastic. And it's Abandonware, so you can have it for free.

i found WCBM, but they have "regretfully" introduced a charge. so i will "regretfully" not download it.

or is there still a free download link?

Do a Google for it as abandonware. There IS an abandonware version, and nobody can charge you to download abandonware.
