About a month ago I tantalized the tastebuds of the FM07 otf thread with this:

I remember one weekend either during WC2006 or Euro 2004, I gathered together a bunch of about 15 OTFers for an FMO rendition of the tournament. It worked suprisingly well, and the thread is probably still loitering around somewhere. I've also played in FMOs with at least 10 people before, without problems, and given the FMO experience tends to get smoother and quicker every version, I don't see why we can't give this a shot...
once FM 08 is released, we have a TWENTY PLAYER online game. Every Premier League side managed by a REAL OTF HUMAN PERSON :o
With a decent host (I know one! hopefully he's up for it) I think this can work. We would need to be very patient, as the first couple of hours would have to be played according to everyone's own pace - whilst they sort tactics, transfers, staff and everything else you do at the start. But once we're settled in, we turn on the auto-continue timer, which makes FMO a breeze, there wouldn't be a great deal of waiting around - although naturally it will be slower than a one-player game.
So would anyone be up for trying this? You need to fit the following criteria, you must be:
1) buying FM08 asap
2) patient
3) GAGGING to try this out
4) not a mong
Apologies for my sensationalist approach to this post, I am actually serious and wanting to give this a shot, it could be fb.
MON, BECOME A PART OF FM HISTORY
Now we're not too far from release, and you've had the chance to try out the demo, would you be interested in something along the lines mentioned above? Now seems like as good a time as any to start putting the wheels in motion.
Let's not dicuss the merits of FM08 in here btw, I've created this seperately for a reason.
To re-emphasise - it will be slow to begin with. So you need to be prepared to put up with the initial haul through the transfer window. Once that's out the way though, with the continue timer on I don't think speed should be an issue.
One little feature you might have noticed in the demo is the 'accept', 'reject' etc etc buttons actually present in news items. This is going to speed up FMO no end - cutting out a tremendous amount of screens we'd need to keep loading.
The main things we need to sort are:
1) 20 interested (actually, 20 KEEN) folks
2) a great host (I'm on 16MB internet, so could feasibly take up the role I suppose)
3) decide whether or not we play set times (with 20 people, I guess one long session every Sunday would be the most feasible option)
or
play whenever the host + at least 10 others are present online and wanting a session.

However, if it can ever be pulled off it would be immense, so I'll register my interest.
Aye, got to avoid quick death syndrome. Partly the reason I'm trying to get OTF involved - we're a very active bunch here.
I know a few guys made their interest known the FM07 thread, I've got you noted but if you could confirm or not whether you're still up for it or not
Also guys, any feedback on playing times would be dandy. When's good? One long Sunday session? As-and-when? Ideas?
