Did Keane drop Gordon in response to the 7-1? I don't remember him being particularly at fault for them?
"It was a case of trying to freshen things up. I think with the goalkeeper situation, the lad's been under a lot of pressure. There has been a lot asked of him.
"He's a young man, we're not expecting miracles. Missing a few games will do him the world of good, mentally more than physically. I wouldn't blame Craig for any of the goals last week [at Everton].
"I'm delighted with Craig but I've got to look at what is best for him, long term he will feel the benefits for it. Of course he was disappointed - any player who is left out is disappointed.

That sounds similar to Bywater's career at West Ham - being dropped after conceding 6 goals was definitely a turning point for him - downwards that is

Keane challenge a definite yellow, never ever red. Should be rescinded.
Shouldn't and won't be rescinded.
He made a two-footed jump towards the ball and took the man with both feet and studs up.
Dangerous play - red card. </BLOCKQUOTE>
did you even see it or did you just listen to adrian chiles? the second leg only came up after the contact, and was due to the momentum, the actual tackle was one footed. and there is no way it was a red. if it was such a sure red how come the ref had to ask the fourth man, when the ref was next to the tackle?
