Common sense would say the case should be judged, then referred to the CSA if she wins, no?
| Sounds good, but how long does she have to wait until it goes through the courts?
The CSA’s job isn’t to stiff blokes out of their hard earned cash, it’s to ensure the welfare of children. They tell the woman to sod off and who’s going to support the children? They can’t get the other woman to pay up because she has no legal responsibility to so they go to someone who has.
I’m not saying the law is perfect, but that’s not the fault of the CSA as they’re only doing their job. There might be a case for the guidelines to be rewritten but again that’s not the fault of the CSA.

I'm still denying everything though. </BLOCKQUOTE>
You give her trinkets and birthday cards from "Daddy"?

Doesn't the state pay support if the father cannot be traced/is skint? So what's the problem?

I thought the Birth Certificate is pretty important in determining who the father is. If he denied being the father then wouldnt she have to go legal regarding paternity tests, etc ? No one has written evidence of their agreement after all.
Ok, if it went to court it's pretty damning that he lied when they find out he is the father but with the other circumstances he can then put across he might be found in his favour anyway

Er, yes in fact. Though the older one has now worked out the difference between 'uncle Bert' and 'daddy', thank ****.

CSA apparently said "if you dont tell who the father is, we're cutting your benefits". What if she said "i dont know" ? It's not on the certificate. Think on your feet, love

But he can make a perfectly plausible case as to why he shouldn't pay. So either check that out before making him pay, or pay him back afterwards if it turns out he's right.

Yeah, he's an idiot. He doesnt want to pay but it didnt occur to him to deny it when contacted ? Just wondering what the CSA could do if he denied it
