afaik davidbowie, if you signed up originally to the fmlive website then you had as much chance of getting on as everyone else, except SI folk who get on automatically of course
there was an initial batch of a thousand I think places, which were distributed to fill the 1000 places in the gameworld. things developed, a fair chunk of people weren't logging in, then I THINK the inactive were gotten rid of and a second batch of places allocated, again to those who'd registered. then there was a gameworld split, resulting in 2x500 player gameworlds.
a few weeks into this split and a chunk of the places taken by those signed up through the website just aren't being used, so rather than just take in another batch, SI take the wise (
imo) move of giving every active member 5 invites to distribute as they please, on a first-come-first-serve basis until both gameworlds are full.
I think that's the basic timeline of what's happened, could be a little wrong in places, but I don't see what there is to be annoyed about?
