There are some immature answers in these forums.
People need to grow up. If someone has a serious concern for a friend/family member, why do some people have to take the mickey out of it?

There is always the general ribbing, but we also can be quite useful in giving advice.
tbh it sounds to me like your mate is doing drugs.

Ok, maybe your friend thought giving up would offer something that hasnt quite materialised.
Has he put on a lot of weight? If so he may have become sluggish and emotional because of it.
What are his reasons for giving up, the real reasons?
Example, if he was after a particular girl and this girl hated him smoking, perhaps he gave up beacuse of this (and this hasnt materialised)
I am pretty sure its not drugs.
