well I guess if it was relatively recent giving up cigarettes he will be sensitive and irritable. But, if its not because of this then, weird. Maybe going through some tough crap in his personal life.

Had a similar problem with my mate, he quit crack cocaine, LSD and pot.
It was really weird for about 4 weeks like breaking down, crying similar situation to you like he never didthis ****. But he was strong enough to work through it.
I think when something has been in your life for a while ie drugs, ciggaretes, alcohol it can take a healing period of a month or more too fully recover I suppose.
