Did you go Umney?
No I didn't. Mate who I go with ordered it on Setanta because he was working early the next morning so we decided against the trip to Cambridge and watched it on TV. Was awfully dull I agree. We probably should have had a draw based on most of our second half performance but there wasn't much in it between both sides. Keeper spilled Randell's(that's the right player yes?) effort into the goal so he has to take the blame for that.
BBC aren't much cop with their non league coverage either. The effort by Rusk(worst footballer EVER) which was deflected off Challinor's shoulder which your keeper tipped round the post for a corner was described as a "spectacular effort" in the BBC report
One major gripe about Garry Hill is that he doesn't make substitutions at the RIGHT TIME! NEVER before 70 minutes are up, and last night for example he makes them AFTER we've gone 1-0 down when if he had made them whilst we were pegging you back earlier in the second half we might have come away with something. Leaving out Burgess(our joint best player by a mile) for Rusk, who I don't think can play football at all in the first place was just stupid.

Yeah, draw would've been a fair result, neither side really deserved to win, ho hum, never mind Your keeper is dodgy, can't believe he's keeping out the legend that is Paul Bastock. And yeah, I was surprised we didn't see Burgess a bit earlier, he's always played well against us in the past...
Bastock's a good keeper but the feeling among supporters is that Nicholls informs and advises the defence more, is more organised as a result than Bastock who just shouts at them when we concede Bastock begun to go slightly loopy as well at times. I've seen him rush out of his goal to hoof balls away which a defender would have dealt with easily like 5 times this season. Real heart in your mouth moments.
Nicholls seems to be better at distribution too but I'd prefer Bastock for the "bigger" sides in the league due to his reflexes and one on one prowess, as well as his experience.
I'm just annoyed at Hill's ineptness/reluctance to make substitutions earlier on in the half. Still we won't be challenging for promotion now this season, comfortable mid table like last season eventually was is my prediction now.
As for you lot, I think you'll be up there, in and around the play off spots is my prediction.

Saturday's game that I've forgot to mention before now. Good performance, although West aren't great shakes, and some very good goals saw us home - although West weren't without their own chances.
Billingham Synthonia 2-1 Bishop Auckland
Conceded a last minute goal from an ex-player after playing so well tonight. Deserved at least a point. Such a difficult defeat to take.

Stimson looks like he will probably leave before the weekend so the search new manager has partially begun.
Where the hell did you hear that? </BLOCKQUOTE>

bit late to ask you now Macca but we've signed Craig McAllister on loan 'till January. Hear he scored 18 goals for you last season. Half decent player is he?

Looking like Gillingham may now be after Peter Taylor, thus saving us! Here's hoping!
