I tried to go down for it, but i spent over an hour stuck in traffic at lunchtime just trying to get through Finchley... it was just chaos for some reason. in the end I gave up and went to watch Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood always was a horrible place to go
memories of Corey Browne threatning to stab our fans in the car park...

Not as good as we have been. Probably played well for about 30 minutes out of the whole game (25 in the first half and 5 in the second), were reasonable for the rest of the first half and poor for most of the second. The creativity was as good as it has been in recent weeks when we were actually playing football rather than being drawn into Carshalton's cynical game. (The irony of that tactic was that they looked pretty good and caused us problems when actually playing football).
Other disappointing thing was that our discipline went to pot a bit again today - more needless challenges, dissent and squaring up with others leading to stupid bookings.
All that said, the points are the important thing!

The Clarets dumped Hemel out of the cup last week with a decent 2-0 win which now sees them play Conference South side Hayes & Yeading United after they overcame Herne Bay in their replay. Think City should be able to win as H&YU aren't exactly setting the world alight at the moment.
City then followed this up by beating Bury Town in the Isthmian League Cup 3-2 at Bury. City will face a very tricky derby game against AFC Sudbury who dumped Billericay out in the last round.
Yesterday City picked up a very good 3-0 away against a fast improving Hastings United, with Jeff Minton scoring from the penalty spot, and Ricky Holmes and Kezie Ibe making important contributions, but with both Hendon and Horsham picking up wins there is no change in their position in the table and so they remain third, behind Hendon who remain top and Horsham who are second.
City now face the short trip down the A12 to play Leyton in a fixture which they lost last season, but with Leyton currently sitting bottom City will fancy their chances of picking up all three points, they follow this up with the trip to West London next Saturday for the cup game against Hayes & Yeading and then the following Monday play current table toppers Hendon at home in a match which should prove to be very tight and evenly contested.
On a more 'pleasant' note, from a Chelmsford fans point of view, Billericay's inconsistent run of form continues as they are crushed 5-2 at home to local rivals East Thurrock United. This follows their 3-0 home defeat to Ryman Division 1 North side AFC Sudbury in the week.
Up the City Wheel 'em in!
I also want to give a shout out to my very local side Bowers & Pitsea as their decent run of form continues as they crushed Romford 4-1 in the Essex Senior League yesterday in front of a, not to be sniffed at, crowd of 104. They currently sit 5th in the table level on points with Concord Rangers and Barkingside and are 3 points behind Barking who are second, and 8 points behind Enfield 1893 who are top but of which Bowers have two games in hand. Now if the Bowers directors are ambitious enough they could be good enough to make a push for promotion to the Isthmian Division One North, I know they have invested heavily in ground improvements as well as they playing staff, so maybe this year could be the year.

We were fffffbbbb, i've never seen them play like that before, usually just long ball after long ball. Jody Banim so great but practically everyone played their part
Having the cameras there was very strange but brilliant at the same time, I just wish I had Setanta for 1 night so I could watch the game, I must have been on the tele loads
It was great to see Smugford get tunred over on Oxford TV...sorry Setanta TV (one of the same really!!)
Well played Droylesden, thoroughly deserved.
Not even going to mention the Salisbury game yesterday.
