Both the same.
A few years ago they realised people would pay as much to stand as to sit. It's noticeable that given the choice at the Shay, more people end up on the terraces.

£15 to stand is extortionate. It's £12 to stand, £15 to sit at Woking, and I think that's overpriced for the product on offer. £10 standing, £12 to sit would be more appropriate, but in this day and age in the Conference with mostly full-time professional squads, sadly clubs have to charge their fans too much.
Bring back the ninties

I would tell you our pre-season fixtures but as always the club is too inept to actually announce anything, we will probably find out rwo days after each game has took place.
We have signed Danny Lewis from Solihull so we now have possibly the two best Goalkeepers in the league

Can't believe football is starting again soon, as mentioned above we have our first pre-season game this Saturday:
Sat 7 July
Mildenhall (A)
Tues 17 July
St Neots Town (a)
Sat 21 July
PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (H)
Tues 24 July
COLCHESTER UNITED (H)
Sat 28 July
Cambridge City (A)
Sat 4 August
Bedford Town (A)
Mon 6 August
LEICESTER CITY (H)
I'm trying not to get overexcited about this season, but we've made some good signings and if we can pick up another striker we could be there or there abouts.
Are there any York fans in this thread? If so is Mark Convery any good? I've had a look on confguide and nobody seems overly impressed...

Although not a fan I do follow the fortunes of Chelmsford City, mainly because my dad supports them and he took me to their games as a kid.
City have added centre back Andy Duncan to their squad. He used to play for Cambridge United and started out at Man Utd.
City's pre-season fixtures are:-
13/7/07 Crystal Palace (h)
18/7/07 Ipswich Town (h)
25/7/07 Colchester United (h)
28/7/07 Enfield Town (a)
6/8/07 Leyton Orient XI (h)
11/8/07 Witham Town (a)
T.B.A. Southend United (h)
The only reason City are playing Palace is because of the connection Peter Taylor has with the club, he is an ex-player and coach, and plus I believe he and City manager Jeff King are good mates.
Pretty sure that City will be among the favourites to win the Ryman this season after coming so close last year, but I'd expect challenges from Hornchurch, Wimbledon, Billericay, Maidstone and Heybridge, and maybe Boreham Wood.

Incidentally the FA Cup draw has been made and City have been drawn at home to one of either Bedfont, Oxhey Jets, Brimsdown Rovers or Burnham Ramblers. Be interesting if they met Burnham Ramblers as it would set up an Essex derby.
Also my local little side Bowers & Pitsea have been drawn away to Welwyn Garden City, and if they win that they have a home tie against either Cockfosters or fellow Essex Senior League side Southend Manor, and should they win that, they have a very pleasing home derby tie against Billericay Town. If they get through I may just go to that one!

FTG: any idea what sort of side Palace are sending to you? They've got their annual visit to Hayes Lane on the Saturday so I was wondering if they are splitting the squad or if you guys are getting the first team and us the traditional XI.
The odious AFC Wimbledon have to be strong favourites at the mo. They've had a decent summer so far, and they certainly underachieved last year. A bit more consistency and the title is theirs to throw away.
I wouldn't totally discount Horsham either. They shouldn't be a threat for the automatic spot, but they are one of those dangerous sides who seem to have the happy habit of peaking at the right moment and provide a major playoff threat.

Good luck with Andy Duncan, he's woeful. No pace, not particularly good in the air, fouls a lot, and he's injury prone. He might be ok at a lower level I suppose but I'm pleased we're rid of him.

Not a clue mate. The only thing I know was that when Peter Taylor was in charge of Hull he sent his first team down to Canvey.
He has done this a number of times, I can remember City playing Southend's first team when Taylor was in charge there as well.
Yeah, Horsham are another team to look out for. They started quite well last year iirc, before City gave them a bashing iirc and they began sliding down the table.
Also I fancy Hendon to be a surprise this year, they finished well and who knows they may spring a surprise and do well.
