Bishop Auckland now face their 8th consecutive season of homelessness. I really must ask why we haven't had a similar campaign running, just beggars belief really.
I did ask one of the directors, who I speak to fairly often, if we should start a petition. His reaction was that the county council (Durham) may take offence and tell us to foxtrot oscar. He may have had a point really but I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the town thought the team were no more rather than playing games at neighbours Spennymoor and Shildon.
Have you tried suggesting it on their forum or anything like that. People suggesting things like handing flyers around town, getting local celebs involved. Even getting the team to release a single locally (cliff Hercules did this a few years ago).
Also talking about getting local ex ducks who have made it like Lee Cook and Leon Barnett involved. Maybe trying to get the local paper to sponsor the campaign. Some are saying we should get all of the AUFC teams in full strips on a training night running and posting through letter boxes leaflets with information about out plight.
We seem to be doing well with this because of our sponsors New Era having a lot of Nationwide comments but all of the things being suggested here could be implemented for Bishop Auckland as well surely?

The thing is, the fans really don't know what stage negotiations are at. One supporter on the forum said there was a 'black hole of information regarding the new ground'. He has a point tbf.
Bishop's local paper is a free weekly effort iirc (I'm not from there), but I suppose it's worth a try getting an article done.
Tbf, we've also had a few players that have made it to professional football recently too, so getting them involved may help.

Chelmsford City had a good match yesterday evening against a strong Crystal Palace side which featured the likes of Dougie Freedman, Shefki Kuqi and Scott Flinders, by going down 2-0. Palace scored both their goals late on with both being scored by Freedman. City did have their chances in the game as well, with keeper Scott Flinders pushing away a couple of good chances.
City also fielded some new faces with the signings of Andy Duncan, Aidan Collins, Dean Palmer, John Keeling and Bertie Brayley.
Attendance was 994.
Up next is Ipswich Town at home on Wednesday.

Marvin Morgan looked handy, big, strong, with a good touch and an eye for goal. Michael Charles was full of running in the first half and was unlucky not to win a penalty, but faded as he tired in the second. Liam Marum looked lost "in the hole", and Matt Pattison or Gez Sole should really have started there. Pattison looked handy in the centre of midfield.
We look lightweight in the middle of the park. Quamina was off the pace. Maledon and Shin both looked handy when brought on in the second half, but we definitely need another central midfielder.
Gasson and Lorraine looked solid and mobile at the back alongside skipper Tom Hutchinson. Gasson was stretchered off, and I hope it's nothing too serious.
Overall, I think "rusty" is the correct term. We have 6 or 7 more games to iron it out. At least the boys tried to play football. The movement has to be better though.

I didn't rate Marum much when I saw him on trial at Brighton last year - not sure if he's got the physical presence to cope really, especially playing 'in the hole'.
Last season's Sussex County League top scorer, Liam Baitup (who works with my dad), has been offered over a hundred quid a week to play for Whitehawk next season - madness. I hope he stays at Eastbourne Town, would be good to see him progress in the Ryman.
