Got £10 on Sodje first scorer at 40-1. That would be a nice present.

I guess you saw what they said on the official site, he's hit the bar twice and had one header off the line in the last 5 matches.

Had the feeling he could score when he came on the other day in one of the home games, think that was when it was cleared off the line.

We won't score many from corners this season but I think Sodje could definitly get a few.

\o/ Great win

Watch how positive our fans are now, there will be talk about promotion again.

Two 1-0 away wins, the kind of results we needed more often away from home.

Must win Saturday, obviously JFH will score though.

The Valley is an awful place for our players to play at, after 20 minutes if we haven't scored eveyone gets on their backs.

Yeah completely different away from home, where 0-0 at half time is good, at home it can be seen as poor.

If we can get a good run of form going I think we'll start getting some of our goals earlier in the match anyway.

Just got back from watching Chelsea u18 vs Charlton u18. I bring bad news. Your guys lost 5-1, but they weren't awful, just Chelsea were fantastic.

Unfortunately, you didn't provide a team for our team sheet, but I've been able to work out the starting team, and as promised way back in August Scott, a little bit of individual feedback for you.

Joe Woolley - made one absolutely outstanding reaction save, wasn't at fault for any of the five goals, looked pretty good, wasn't too vocal but his kicking has improved since last year.
Carl Jenkinson - apparently a new guy at right back, has played 2 games or so, looked nervous, not got much pace but has decent strength and is determined. He was up against our 6'4" quick and strong Ivorian winger and whilst he got beat often, he didn't leave the team open as a result.
Jack Clark - Bit of an uneventful game. Didn't leave me with much to say, except that he's right footed and of average height.
Taylor Sinfield - pretty similar to Clark, didn't really do anything right or wrong. Both of them struggled with movement off the ball.
Left back - no idea who played here, sorry.
Tooks Yussuff - captain, looked very useful, centre midfield the best part of the Charlton team. Was more defensive, breaking up play and starting things. As I said last year, tall and strong, but more tactically aware now.
Jonjo Shelvey - yeah this kid is very good, I've seen him in the Victory Shield but he's great in person too, has pretty much an all-action game. Good tackler, great energy, is a leader, has a strong shot from distance, and a good left foot (he's right footed) - he smashed one off the bar with it.
Ruairi Harkin - poor game, struggled woefully with our left back all game, and made little to no impact at all.
Callum O'Shea - right footer playing on the left, took some corners, is quick but not lightning quick (14/15) but it's his only weapon to beat someone, he's not exceptionally skilled. Our right back is a physical beast so he had a hard game too.
Richmond Kissi - shortish, stocky striker, maybe 5'9", didn't work hard, didn't link play, and missed a penalty with a very poor effort.
Ben Godfrey - played better than Kissi, did everything Kissi didn't. Seemed to be left footed, and liked to drift right.

Uchechi didn't feature at all, must be injured. You had three subs, one was Scott Wagstaff, the others I didn't recognise off pics on your website, one of them scored - played up front after coming on for Godfrey, blond lad, quite quick. Looks like Chris Solly if anyone but he's not an attacker apparently.

Any questions, fire away, I'll see what I can add. Your u16s lost 3-2, only thing I noted from your team there is your captain is a 6'6" DMC with legs like Peter Crouch. So thin.

Thanks thats great

That couldn't have been Jack Clark at centre back, as he's a 'Slightly built left-back' and 'possesses a magic wand of a left foot'.

Other defenders are Sam Long, Chris Solly and Rhys Coleman, although there could have been another u16 there alongside Jenkinson and Shelvey.

Good to hear you rated Shelvey. Sheer Class reckons he could have a CA around 70, though that could be a bit too high. Do you agree with -8 for his PA for now?

When you say the defenders struggled with movement off the ball, do you mean movement from your players or their movement when we had the ball?

Yussuff a DM, or just a defensive MC? As for tactically aware, better positioning, anticipation, decisions etc?

Anything stand out when it comes to CA or PA? Don't know much about most of them when it comes to their potential, apart from Yussuff and Shelvey being quite good.

Would like to find out who this 6 foot 6 DM is

Clark was playing, there was a Charlton guy hanging around and he had Clark scribbled on his team sheet alongside Sinfield. Just passed me by enough to not really see if he preferred his left foot or not, my bad.

Between Long and Solly for the other defensive place if either of them, Coleman's black and it wasn't him.

For Shelvey's CA, take Yussuff and drop it by five maybe, there wasn't much between them at all. If that leaves Shelvey too high then maybe tweak it more. -8 sounds fine.

Movement from Chelsea's players. We had Kakuta pulling the strings and Nouble/Nielsen/Sala running off the ball with guys coming from deep a bit. Your guys struggled to pick them up a lot of the time.

Yussuff probably both, more DM than MC today, and yeah, your call on those attributes seems to be the ones to target, obv up to you what they are and where they fit in with your team.

CA/PA hard to judge today because it was a heavy loss, I saw some of them a year ago in a closer game. Shelvey, Yussuff, and Woolley were the best players today, on another day maybe Harkin and O'Shea would've had more success or Kissi and Godfrey would've had more of a look at goal. I liked what I saw of Godfrey though.
