That was up yesterday, and it came up from the report in the Guardian about us willing to accept Spur's offer.

oh yeah, but thats not hard tbf, just seemed like the easiest comparison.

Young will only be solid for a team like Everton, Bolton etc. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Yeah thats what I meant by solid, don't think there any Charlton fans who really believe he's a top defender and should be at a big club. Just a good Premiership player really, nothing more.

Hmmm

Our womens team has been axed despite it being the only one challenging Arsenal at all this season.

Our women's team was better than the mens team

I was just going to post that, here's the link anyway

Wrong, we've won the reserve league a few times

Bit of a shameful decision by us really. Not what Charlton is about.

Yeah, that makes it even worse.

I guess it just shows how much JFH and co have cost us...

Very poor show from Charlton - as is said in the article, it's not really right to punish the women's team because of the failings of the men's.

Still, they could always ask Dowie for a handout - he's giving money out left, right and centre these days.

But to add to that. What could the womens team cost to run? 1m a year?

Charlton has always been about community, and by closing all the womens operation, including the centres of excellence we're alienating a lot of people. I'm disappointed.

Dont all gone on about the womens team, how many of you supported them? Went to the games? (Except the finals) etc

Everyone knows when we get relegated people lose jobs, and I would rather it be part of the club, that doesnt help the first team who I support, a part that doesnt generate the club ANY money, and a part of the club that is just an expense.

Women should play Sunday league anyway, you never see women playing Sunday league! The minute they can kick a ball straight, they automatically qualify to play for a Professional Club
