no. playing at the back tomorrow will be chris doig and a youngster called james perch. james perch has never played first team football before. this is because hjelde is stalling over signing a contract and kinnear is allegedly not that keen anyway, although if perch plays badly that'll surely change.

i expect walker may be put on the bench if we've got no-one else, but he's pledged never to play first team football again.

to be honest i'm sh1tting it over the new season,i can honestly see a similarity to last year and im praying this wont be the case.

Doig and Perch-i dont know the latter to be fair but Chris Doig ain't brilliant,but at least john thompson aint playing at the back. :thup:

regarding Hjelde,i honestly think its somewhat of a backward step for us to sign him.In his last season with us he barely got a game so now that 18 months has passed what is going to get him a game now??-another bad sign for me

i do think we failed to capitalise on a lot of the players on free transfers in the transfer market in the summer.And were not in a good way regarding Reid either which by all accounts is down to both him and the club.

but enough of my moaning,lets hope we can get something from the JJB tomorrow/later today.

um, are you joking? barely got a game? des walker and dawson had their fair share of injuries, and he'll only be back-up to wes and daws now

and on your other point - kinnear has an immaculate record in teh transfer market, and any free transfers we didnt go after he obviously didnt think was worth his purchase. we only missed out on matthew spring really.

in his last season he did barely get a game,dawson and walker were nearly always present throughout.

i sometimes wonder whether you actually pay attention to forest.

PAUL EVANS - revelation last year, bought for £35k, holds together our midfield now
KRIS COMMONS - very highly rated left winger from stoke - unproven as of yet
PAUL GERRARD - came in and we were unbeaten with him in goal last season. ask any wigan fan and he'll tell you that he RULED yesterday
ALAN ROGERS AND ANDY IMPEY - both been very solid for us since joining first on loan.

the only remotely "bad" signing was nicky barmby perhaps and he didnt really do anything and it was only on loan anyway.

apart from commons these players kept us up last season. now wipe your dribble off your chin isaacs and get behind him.
