Nottingham Forest have today received a transfer request from Andy Reid.

The Republic of Ireland international has written to the Club to ask for a move away from The City Ground.

Reid has found himself the subject of transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur this year. They bid £5million for the 22 year old during the January transfer window but that failed to match Forest's valuation of the player.

The London club renewed their interest again last month with a £3million offer, which was immediately rejected by Forest.

The Club has no further comment to make at this stage. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I just read that on the homepage

what in christs name are you on about isaacs? - how exactly have we shown a lack of ambition?

who cares if we've not gone out and bought someone for silly money? or not offered fanny williams a contract to rival the c-nts? big fat joe is hardly trying to secure our place in division one for next season.

you want the moon a bloody stick, and it seems andy reid does too.

for a start he's wrong about him only being worth what people are prepared to pay for him. he's worth what we are prepared to sell him for, and if he doesnt like that then he should shut up and play for us until he's in a position where he can move teams.

handing in a transfer request 3 days before the season starts is ridiculous and hardly good for the team. i'm i being naive in thinking some ******* agent is behind this?

yeah i agree, i cant blame Reidy for wanting to go to a premiership club though tbh, but there are ways of doing things, and handing in a transfer request at this stage of pre-season is fcuked up

Wattana-please inform me of exactly any ambition we have shown in the past 12 months.

This pattern is not new to us,we get promised 'sexy signings' and then to follow that up we sign Andy Impey,Alan Rogers and Kevin James while offering Gareth Williams a pittance of a new contract.Yet for some reason most of our fans still get taken for a ride,Van Hooijdonk,David Johnson and now Andy Reid have stated the exact same as what im getting at,we lack ambition and without doubt the same pattern is before us once again.

And of course most Forest fans will now slaughter andy reid as a 'judas' like Keane,Collymore, etc etc without realising or considering what points he has made.
I say good riddance to reidy as he does deserve to be in the premiership and was a fantastic player for us,but of course the fickle forest fans wont remember his quality, they will remember him as a so called 'whining ****' without taking into consideration what points he was making.

when were we promised "sexy signings"? imo kris commons appears to be one of the most exciting players weve signed in years. and why do we need sexy signings? nobody would have caulled evans a "sexy signing" when we picked him up for £35k or whatever pittance it was, but from what hear he was just what we need.

fanny williams can go and stuff himself, i doubt he was offered a "pittance" no matter what he protests, and i've never heard a forest fan ever side with hooijdonk.

forest fans never slaughtered collymore and keane as "judas" (unlike lars bohinen and undoubtedly fanny williams now) because they continued to perform for forest when they were looking to leave - keane stated he'd still give 100% to forest even though he was looking for a new club (i think). i dont think anyone is calling andy reid 'judas' ffs, they're just a tad annoyed the little runt didnt make a transfer request at the start of the off-season rather than keep us waiting until now thinking "woo yay we've got him for another 6 months" before crushing us. we'll wait and see whether he gives his all for us if he's still in a forest shirt come saturday (if big fat joe plays him at all)

and i'm not sure exactly who he thinks he is. he was brilliant for us last season, but the way he's been speaking recently we're apperently a one man f'cking team now.

i wonder if he would have made the same comments if harty was still around considering hart gave him the push he needed to stop him going down the gareth edds route into nothingness.

taken from the official forum (and dont represent my views exactly):

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
Shock, Horror, more conspiracy theories by the day, havent read one for minutes now. But despite all the hysteria, guess work and accusations....

Lets look at the FACTS.

Joe needed players last year and immediately brought in Tank and Imps, later joined by Gerrard and Evo. He then made these signings permanent.

Over the summer the promising James and highly rated Commons were also brought in.

Sadly Judas sniffed an extra 20 pieces of silver down the road and joined Fester for a yet to be decided fee.

Joe has continued to look at players over the summer with at least 10 trialists coming in and out of the CG. Not one of them has "done enough for me to keep them" in Joes words.

Joe was also interested in Osman, but after rejecting 400k bid and being told by Everton in no uncertain terms that he was part of their plans, no improved bid was made. A bid was also allegedly made for Prutton which again was rejected and no other bids have been made as far as anyone is aware. We also missed out on Scimeca as soon as he was offered Premiership football. These are the ONLY confirmed facts we have!

JK has also confirmed his interest in Andrea Jakobssen but despite initial indications of him being available at a decent price this was then increased to at least one million. JOE TOLD BRONDBY THAT IT WAS TOO MUCH FOR A 30+ DEFENDER - his decision! Also very plausible when he want to play Wes and Daws long term.

We have limited funds but there are funds available. Joe makes the footballing decisions and ND will give him the signed cheque. Joe has also repeatedly stated that he is aware we are lacking one or two players especially with the current defensive injuries. BUT he will not be rushed into panic signings just to make up the numbers - a very sensible policy despite all the moaning.

On top of this we have had the Reid saga, but none of it is a surprise to anyone.

The season starts in 3 days and we may start a man or two down. BIG DEAL we dont have a transfer window, whats the problem? Most teams that get promoted continue to strengthen over the course of the season.

The main factor is that Hart failed to bring in players last year so people assume JK is the same and therefore it must be at board level. ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE OF THIS.

Queue mass hysteria and everyone jumping on the bandwaggon, In fact it is sobad that everyone is agreeing with Birtles!!! When was the last time he got something right? So why is he suddenly right now?

If we dont finish in the top 10, or more likely higher then I for one will be very very surprised. And I will gladly eat humble pie, but I think it is far more likely that 90% of the people on here will be eating huge servings of it come May.

I await the abuse and accusations that normally follow, but that is MY frank and honest opinion and believe Joe will do his job.
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

i agree with everything but the anti-hart bias

darren ward has joined norwich for an 'undisclosed' fee (probably about half a million).

and spurs appear to have lost interest in andy reid (), southamption appear to have gained interest ()
