The all new Sheffield Wednesday Thread *Up The Owls*
Time to start a new thread after the purge of 05 destroyed the old one. So here we go again.
Unsuprisingly the first post has a striker theme about it (WHAT? You're kidding?), We've been linked with a move for Port Vales Billy Paynter who I think would be a poor buy im afraid - only scored 2 in 17 this season (I believe) and hes playing for a team near the playoffs. Hope we dont spend more than £100k on him, but no doubt we will brandish the magic £750k around. *groans*
Also, we've been supposedly linked once again with the big lump that is Clive Platt of MK Dons (after Eustace went down to scout the Dons). Seriously, WTF is going on? This guy is crap and I sincerely hope we dont touch him with a barge pole. Although, maybe he was looking at Mcleod eh? (doubtful, but we can all hope).

Brunt is fast becoming a quality player this season. If he's not punding 38 yard volleys in he's skinning 2 or 3 opposition players and unleashing a palm stinger. Great player, hope he keeps it up and gets better.

The all new Sheffield Wednesday Thread *Up The Owls* Post #8
Iposted this in the villa thread so i might as well post it here as well-
The Northern Ireland team are releasing "We're Not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland" for Children in Need. I dunno when it's available in stores but expect to hear Chris Brunt on national radio pretty soon.
Here's the words to the song-
Mine eyes have seen the glory of Espana "82
When little Northern Ireland Showed the world what we can do
Now Lawrie is our leader and we're coming after you
And this is what we sing.........
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
We've beat the Turks, the I'ties and the mighty Germans too
The French, The Dutch, the Southerners all know what we can do
and if you know your history, you'll know it could be you
and this is what we sing....
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
Oh I was only little when my father said to me
C'mon we go to Windsor to cheer the boys in emerald green
The greatest wee country that the world has ever seen
and this is what he said.....
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
Those millionaires from England came over in the year 2005
Little did they know that we had planned a big surprise
Sir David scored the winner and the whole place went wild
And this is what we sang....
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me

So a few bits of news coming out of Hillsborough today, notably that Coughlan will be out for "several weeks" with his achilles injury (its never a few days is it?). Also, Talbot has stepped up his return to fitness so hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later. Maclean is also ahead of schedule so could make a return December/January (I just hope we dont rush him back, but could you imagine if he scored on his return against the Blunts? ).
Sounds like the AGM was a load of crap last night and that nobody even mentioned the sheer and utter sh!teness that is the club shop (both on the high street and online).
Anyway, big match tonight against Reading where we should see Agbonlahor continue up front after his decent performance on Saturday. Will be a very tough match but hopefully we can pull something out of the bag.

Coughlan is a miss, hopefully several weeks doesn't mean too lang, and he's a fighter.
Dunno WTF is happening about this offer Allen made for the Wednesdayite shares, IMO they really shouldn't sell them, then it just becomes nothing more than a normal fans group, and not getting much at all for their loss of all power.
