I'm willing to lay off Peacock lately because his recent performance have shown that at least he's trying and putting the work in. Fair enough his finishing and first touch are shocking but at least he's getting into the positions required to humiliate himself. Graham on the other hand is the worst striker I've seen at Hillsborough since De Bilde.
And I also see we've let Reet go on trial to Bury. How many goals does he have to score for the reserves before they give him a chance ffs. I'd play him instead of Graham any day.

| He looked decent enough when we played Port Vale last season, but I don't think he's the sort of player we need. To similar to Peacock I reckon, don't think he's of the quality we need to keep us in this league.

Paynter wouldnt be a good choice. He's only scored 2 goals in 17 matches (or around that) this season, and for a team nearing the playoffs. Wouldnt be any better than what we have, but no doubt we will end up signing him as the 'answer'.

So Port Vale have signed Leon Constantine on loan from Torquay, which means Billy Paynter may now be available. Terrible news I fear as he's just not good enough for what we need. He's scored 12 goals in 59 games in the league over this and last season. (comparing that to Peacocks record of 7 league goals in 36 starts and 12 sub appearances, it isnt very good).
I just hope its a coincidence and we've got someone better lined up (although I doubt it). |

Nicky Weaver has joined on a 6 week loan from Man City. It appears that Lucas has got himself crocked, and by the sounds of it, will be out for up to 6 weeks. Really bad news that is, but at least Weaver is a competent signing. Shame we cant be as quick to bring in a decent striker eh?

Any Vale fans out there? Surely there must be something else about Paynter for THREE Championship clubs to be chansing him IIRC, cause his scoring record is a bit sh*t as ginny says.
Is Weaver a Wednesday fan or something? Could swear it's been mentioned as I think he's been linked with us before. Maybe dodgy memory mind, should do OK for us though, but makes you wonder why we've bothered with Adamson and don't just have some kid as a emergency backup.

Weaver was born in Sheffield and I think he's a Owls fan. Pretty pleased we've managed to get him in as cover, not too bad a signing. Quote:
City keeper Nicky Weaver has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a six week loan deal.
The Sheffield born stopper has gone straight into the Owls' squad for tomorrow's home game with Derby County and can hope for some first team action with his home town club. Weaver has recently returned to full fitness following a stop-start season so far and played in City reserves 1-1 with Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Nicky said: "It's a good move for me, especially being a Sheffield lad, and hopefully I'll get the chance to show what I can do."
Despite the six week agreement City do have a clause for the instant recall of Weaver if necessary.

How come we can get a fairly decent premiership goalie at about two days notice when Lucas is injured. But we still can't get a striker in? Also, Weaver's only just come back from being injured for most of the start of the season, if Sturrock doesn't trust Adamson more than that, why did we sign him. After originally releasing him?
