Hecks on Radio Sheff now. Not holding breath on the striker, but you never know, we've been in talks with him so at least it's supposedly something fairly concrete.

Billy Sharp was at the reserve match today - he would be a great signing, but its highly unlikely to be him (we can but hope).
Eustace being down at MK Dons might indicate we're signing someone from them, I just sincerely hope it will be Mcleod. Other potentials will obviously be Leon Best as well.

shock fecking horror - guess what? No new striker for the weekend. My God this is getting beyond a bleeding joke now. I just cant accept its this difficult to bring someone in, except if we've only been offering peanuts for wages. Sooooooo, tedious.
So its the same old sh!te up front on Saturday with Peacock, and no doubt the ver increasing joke of a player that is David Graham. And then comes another midweek game next week, which means the week being split so no new signing for then - leaving only Thursday/Friday until our trip to Watford, where there will once again be no signing. 3 more games with Peacock. FFS.

Yeah you're right, should be a mention about the complete shambles of a striker search. Either that or "Dave Allen - more spin than a tumble dryer"
No doubt Blackstock will score, its bound to happen. He's scored 3 in 2 so far (more than Graham all season, and equal to Peacocks record in all competitions).
A complete disaster from the board and all involved.

Still trying to work out what they're doing tbh, unless Blackstock wasn't actually a target and it was all media speculation, but you'd think we'd be very aware of the situation there AND have a good relationship with them (Loans of Jones, Best).
We know the current striker we're looking to buy isn't a Prem backup now though - Sturrock mentioned something about teams looking to bring in their own replacements which obviously Prem teams can't do, so he's outside the top flight, and I'm guessing not Leon Best. Is he back from injury yet btw?

Best returned to reserve action about 3 weeks ago iirc, so if we wanted him so much then he's there to be had - I like how Dave Allen emphasises the point "I will buy Best, if the price is right". What is the right price exactly? No doubt anything above £50k wont be the "right price".
The Leon Best situation is another puzzler. He's only played a couple of games for us, yet we're putting him in the category of one of the 'most wanted' player - its a lot of pressure for the lad, and he's not exactly a proven Championship striker that we're needing.

Any more news about Paynter your end? I'd be happy with around 200k-ish for him. I don't understand where this Championship bidding war has suddenly materialised from for him, because I don't think he'd cut it in a higher league.
