So having not finished my masters in Civil Engineering, I haven't done anything with it yet. Surprised that no one here has done an engineering degree btw. But anyway as much as possible I hope that I will never work as a engineer. It is so incrediably dry, also working in an office really doesn't appeal to me.

2:1 in accounting and law from the Uni of Manchester, now studying towards my chartered accountancy and working as an auditor.

my first job after uni could have been achieved with a 2:2 and didn't need to be an accountancy/finance degree so the specfics of it was pretty irelevant.

Although I have recieved exemptions and I suppose it has been slightly easier with a bit of a background.

Cheers for that email Theis. I used that question you gave me a few times and everyone loved it. I've got a job offer now. I really like it there but still attending my remaining interviews and assesments anyway.

2:2 in Sport and Recreation studies

Now.. Leading Test Automation expert for a multi-national company. Number 1 in the world in its industry.

How did i use my degree? I didn't, I got my first job based on my A Levels. A degree was a requirement but the job was as an administrative assistant to the development department of a software house.

Boring job, so i automated a lot of the paperwork using MS access and VBA .... hence test automation team became interested in my skilss... a few changes of company and hey presto.. here i am in Japan.

Next step.. MBA, started the application process.

Sod all, went to work in a call centre after my degree for pocket money, climbed the ladder there to a reasonable extent and just got a job as a recruitment consultant due to my sales background.

Degree in Music Production and Sound technology, currently working in Pro-Audio Sales.

The dream job is to be an A and R man for one of the big record labels.

My law degree was, surprisingly, very useful in helping me to become a lawyer. My masters in law (completed but not conferred) is also very useful in keeping me in the law. My engineering degree not so useful (but looks good on the CV). I have to admit, I can't remember where I've put my engineering degree.
