The LLM consensus is option a). This has been discussed before though. Whether that discussion has been laid dead now, I'm not sure.

The players search is banned territory, no exceptions whatsoever. If that quote is from the most recent FAQ, it should be changed. Searching for players is imply not the LLM way.

But on to the Job Centre. I'm not sure how well it works now, but in the past at least, it was said it was okay to hire staff if the Job Centre did not do it for you after a reasonable amount of time.

There must be issues with it because there are always plenty of staff interested, though often none apply to adverts after months. So I would actually say, if you haven't had any apply after a month or two, it's okay to get one the other way. This is naturally much easier if you have an assistant as you can filter out the uninterested ones.

I was hoping the Job Centre worked better this time around, but it doesn't look like it

Eh, it works in the broad sense of the word "work", meaning "not completely non-functional".

It took 4 months to get an applicant for my Worcester scout position, an entire year to get an applicant who could actually tell the difference between football and badminton.

The Job Centre's worked absolutely well since FM07, well enough to render any excuse that saw LLaMas use the Staff Search Screen invalid.

3 months in charge of Maidenhead with not a single scout applying for the job says otherwise. If this isn't fixed in the patch, I will revert back to the staff search screen. Having no scout is more unrealistic than that.

I'm not interested in the slightest with FM08 until it's playable, normally by the second or third real patch.

The Job Centre works fine in FM07. That's what matters.
