No problems with the goals scored in the Premier League. About 50-70 goals for the top sides, and roughly 1 a game for the bottom ones.

It's the same picture in the Blue Square North and South. About a goal a game for the bottom sides, and 1.5-2 for the top sides. Nothing unusual about that.

Only did a holiday test so haven't had a look at the Job Centre. Can put it back on again and see if I get a job and check it out though.

Thanks for that. Looking very promising so far
Have you come across any weird developments, for example in player skills? I'm not sure if this has actually been an issue before, but I know it's been ranted about in GQ.

Pleasantly surprised by the finances. Had expected more clubs to get in difficulties. Perhaps they are, and are getting bailed out. That I don't know.

Job Centre works fine

Put out ads for ass-man and scout. Got replies to both on the first try.

Scout:
1st: 5 unemployed
2nd: 8 unemployed
3rd: 13 unemployed

Several were quite decent. Almost all had double digits in at least one relevant skill.

Ass. Manager
1st: 3 unemployed, 2 employed
2nd: 5 unemployed, 3 employed
3rd: 6 unemployed, 5 employed

Not exactly great ones, but some would do fairly okay. Usually good at something, but not all-rounders.

Looking very good so far, better than expected. Once again, well done SI

When the smaller issues get fixed, this should be a nice version for long career games.

13 of the 44 clubs currently in the N/S tier were not in the league system in 2007/08.

Mostly the usual suspects in the Premier League (bar Chelsea!! ), but Huddersfield and Swansea have made their way up there.

It looks like the attendances are fairly stable now (used upgraded beta). Very low for some clubs, and sometimes with huge differences from year to year, but overall it looks to be allright.
Sorry. I must be missing something.

How can attendances be fairly stable now if sometimes there are huge differences from year to year .

My thoughts on playing this LLM style is pretty hardcore...use the staff search function and then wait for the scout to make recommendations. Job centre works like a dream..and depending on your scout..you can unearth pretty good gems.

Because the overall picture isn't one of declining attendances. There are peaks here and there in single years. Often this is due to promotion or a good season, though I obviously haven't looked at all the cases.

From my proper save attendances were going down about 5% a year in both North and South. After the upgraded beta this seems to have been rectified. Too early to say for sure in my save as I'm not done with the season.

The holiday game was ran from start to finish with the upgraded beta. As outlined above it seems to be much better now. Long-term gaming should be good, when the smaller issues get settled.

I'll dare the guess that when the proper patch comes out, we'll be ready to go for good and long career saves. I have already started mine and hope I can continue with it.

Have you run a similar test game Jimbo, and what did you come up with? Have you found issues with attendances? Any other issues?

It can also have to do with other teams appearing in the league that either attract more visitors due to having a larger fanbase anyway, or maybe it's even a rival team.

No I can't say I have.

What I have done is played the game and been sacked for poor financial performance, despite not going over my wage budget and not spending ANY money on players.

I incurred a debt because the club achieved unrealistic low attendances, (or possibly because the board failed to take into consideration the realistic current low attendances). (It's one of the two and up to you to decide which one).

Whether there are peaks or troughs seems largely irrelevant if you get sacked because of the troughs and don't therefore get to experience the peaks.

This is why I don't understand your comment about attendances being fairly stable.

JImbo, from my understanding, Pangaea was saying that attendances don't always drop significantly after the first season. He said in his "proper save attendances were going down about 5% a year in both North and South."

Now, in his test "this seems to have been rectified".

So, what he's saying is that there are still fluctuations in attendance (which is most likely due to good/bad form/weather), but they're not dropping and forcing issues with club finances.

Problem solved. Hopefully.

Unless you have played at least a season since applying the upgraded betapatch, I don't see how you can say there are still problems. We know this was an issue, and you can't exactly blame your sacking on the exe as it is now since you got sacked before it was applied and had taken effect (I assume).

Don't have time to analyse the numbers right now, and not sure it's necessary either. May have time to do it later on though.
