I have never been a great LLM, in fact for the past 3 versions of the game I have been a quitter after the 2nd season. This year I am determined to make it and I manage a terrible Swedish team.

After a 'good'(Didn't go down) season my scout found "The God amongst all part timers" who was available for loan. A striker who has scored 11 of my teams 14 goals in 5 games. This one player makes up for my 10 dreadful players... Home or away, just point him in the right direction and woah.

Now please, I am not bragging, my team has conceded 13 goals and mid-table obscurity beckons. Instead i'm confused. How the hell did my team get this guy? (I am the 3rd worst team in Sweden). Why isn't he playing first team football for the team he came from? Most importantly what the hell do I do when he returns to his club!?


Has anyone else signed unbelievable players and been left scratching their heads thinking about why the player joined originally?

Also how many gems on average to you unearth a season? (So far I have found 0.5 a season.)

I unearthed a gem once. He was 16. He had played absolutely no games for us when the board accepted a 50K offer for him. He must've been good.

it happens, I just don't brag about it . I guess I can brag that sometimes my players are so good they know which direction to shoot the ball - becomes very handy in penalty kicks and free kicks.

My players usually kick in the right direction too, just a tad ****ing sky-high!!

I'm not even excited about getting penalties anymore. I know I'll miss. A goalkick or throw-in is a bigger goalscoring opportunity it seems

Either there are too many missed penalties, or there aren't enough awarded.

In my current FM07 save, I have a striker a bit like that - one season he was out for two prolonged periods due to injuries (about 6 months in total), yet he was still the club's highest scorer with 11 goals (next was 6, from another striker who remained injury-free for the whole season). He scored 22 in 30 games the season after that (EVERYONE else in the team only managed to score 10 between them).
