SMG’s a really talented actress though. I’m up to the last episode of series two which is one of my favourites. The scene where she breaks down after killing Angel is great and has me really feeling for her (although not as I’d hope).

Never realised Whedon wrote Toy Story.

From what I heard about Alien Resurrection he wasn’t given full artistic licence over it so had to make loads of compromises.

The final moments of season 5 get me close to weeping like a little girl. I am not proud.

He's well known as a great "script doctor", i.e. the guy you call if your script doesn't quite work. That's what happened with Toy Story, they had this great idea, but a story that wasn't so good. Speed too (but not Speed 2 too).

With Alien: Resurrection, they kept asking him to rewrite the end to make it cheaper, then in the end did something completely different anyway.

But rather than go into all of the reasons why “Alien: Resurrection” is disappointing to me, I will tell you that, yes, I wrote five endings. The first one was in the forest with the flying threshing machine. The second one was in a futuristic junkyard. The third one was in a maternity ward.

And the fourth one was in the desert. Now at this point this had become about money, and I said, “You know, the desert looks like Mars. That’s not Earth; that’s not going to give people that juice.” But I still wrote them the best ending I could that took place in the desert. And then finally they said, “Y’knowww, we just don’t think we need to go to Earth.”

So I just gave them dialogue and stuff, but I don’t remember writing, “A withered, granny-lookin’ Pumkinhead-kinda-thing makes out with Ripley.” Pretty sure that stage direction never existed in any of my drafts.

I love listening to Whedon's commentary, it's hilarious at times. Generally commentary's are boring imo.

The end of season 5 just had me torn between *weep* and ffs buffy just sacrifice dawn instead *froth*.
