For this reason, only professional and semi-professional leagues have been incorporated.

There are amature contracts in 08, recently took over Eivissa in Spain and every player is on an amature contract with 0 salary (as am I and all my staff)

Saying that i do agree, amature leagues such as this would be difficult to implement realistically.

Brian, the purpose of designing a game is:

a.) fun
b.) making money

Both are very important aspects. The amount of work to put into putting things into the game that would take lots of time and effort into account is diametrical to b.) - and it wouldn't really result in lots of a.)

So it's not a good idea, from SI's perspective.

Hmmm, 5 out of 15 HFL Teams remain in the Scottish Cup, 20%, whereas 3 out of 4 SJFA Teams remain...that's 75%.

HFL &gt; SJFA

In your dreams </BLOCKQUOTE>

20%

Someone can't do maths...

Just think about it: matchday and 4 players are missing and you have to start putting 14 year olds on the line up...
And why would this be hard to simulate?
"Awol" is allready in the game. So they could make the chance of players going awol bigger then (semi)-pro's.

Would be a top game!
Just dreaming I guess.
Brian, I think very soon you would be playing the soccer moms that are driving the kids to the match... not a very good idea - unless the player photos are good...

&lt;warning very long post&gt;

Although having the Highland League would add something to the match I'm in the group of people who feel loads of other leagues should get higher priority. I mean, jockland already has 4 tiers represented in FM.

If you look at the Fifa world ranking (I know arbitrary, but you have to look at something):

1 Argentina
Currently only has 2 tiers listed
Adding a third would mean 2 additional groups with in total 46 clubs. Sounds doable.
2 Brazil
Currently represented with 3 tiers
Reasonably well presented. Would own if the football at state level was better presented (so different levels with promotions/relegations and the best clubs at state level qualifying for Série C)
3 Italy
4 tiers already
Adding Serie D would be almost madness with an additional 162 clubs
4 France
SI: Please, please make the CFA fully playable. No further request at this moment
5 Germany
 to SI for implementing the new league system. 4 tiers should do for now.
6 Spain
3 tiers at the moment.
Would own so much if the Tercera División was implemented but to be fair that's not quite realistic. 364 clubs in 18 groups.
7 Netherlands
Only 2 tiers at the moment. Yet as there is no relegation/promotion between the first division and the top amateur leagues not really feasible. Wouldn't say no to it though. 6 groups (3 on saturday, 3 on sunday) of 14 clubs. Eventhough no promotion is possible it's possible to play in the Dutch Cup (KNVB-Beker)
8 Portugal
3 nice and very nice to play tiers available.
9 Czech Republic
Gimme gimme gimme! Only 2 tiers represented and adding a third should be no real dealbreaker as it's only 2 groups with in total 34 clubs
10 Croatia
Also only 2 tiers available. Adding a third would mean 3 groups of 18 clubs. Not unrealistic.
11 England
Only the 11th football nation yet represented with 6 tiers of national football. Enough for now if you ask me :p
12 Romania
Only 2 tiers at the moment as well.
Adding a third would mean 2 groups of 18 clubs.
13 Scotland
4 tiers. And no real promotion/relegation with the tier below that so no priority to add more if you ask me.
14 Greece
Also only 2 tiers at the moment. 3rd tier would mean 35 clubs divided over 2 groups.
15 Mexico
Might become a tad more difficult to add another tier. Not only it would mean 5 groups with in total about 75 clubs, it would also mean SI would get into trouble with :luciano:

Arbitrary other countries to mention:
18 USA
Only has 13 clubs in FM at the moment yet no promotion/relegation with the tier below United Soccer Leagues First Division which holds another 12 clubs.
58 Wales
Only 1 tier at the moment. 2nd tier would mean 2 groups of 18 clubs each. Gimme gimme gimme! I would say.
145 India
Huge market so therefore reprensted in FM I would assume. Couldn't really find any information about a league structure though (not surprised seeing the 145th place at the FIFA rankings)

19 Nigeria
Highest ranked country not represented in FM
Top tier consists of 20 clubs. Tier below that holds 2 groups. Research might be a big pain in the you know what.
23 Cameroon
18 Clubs in the top tier which isn't represented in FM either. Relegation to the tier below that. Another pain the **** country surely.
30 Japan
3rd highest ranking country without representation in FM. We know why. Still would be nice.

To summarise it, my personal wishlist:

Additional levels to add in FM(sort of in order of personal preference):
Wales (only 1 level now and pleases the homenations market)
Argentina (2 levels for the topranking country now only)
Czech Republic
Greece

Another others (including Croatia and Romania) would be nice as well ofcourse but my current computer can't cope with it anyway but if it's in SI's long term plans (2009 or so) please include them.

Additional nations to add:
Certainly more African nations. If the likes of Cameroon and Nigeria are too hard to research start with a couple of North African ones (Marocco, Tunesia, Egypt)
Some more European nations are always nice. First priority according my taste to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus and the 3 Baltic states.
And then there's still Asia and South America as well ...

Final conclusion. Jockland Highland League wouldn't be in my top20 wishlist for FM. Hell, even the 2. deild (3rd level Icelandic football) would be above that.

Why not make a 2nd version of FM? FM: The Less Gifted Countries" where SI makes leagues from countries like Estonia, Lithuania, Andorra, Mongolia, Canada and Malta playable?
