But I love these damn LLM rules. My fuggin team is ****, I mean, complete ****. Most likely due to the fact that I suck as a manager but thats part of the fun, right?
I'm a newbie to LLM, hell, I'll be honest. I never even looked at these forums but I've been playing FM since CM03. I HATE cheaters, always have, always will and I've always hated taking the easy way. So thats why I have always played within a lower division. Now, at one point I considered Mansfield (League 2) a lower division team but then I tried my ECS team. I'm not a die-hard player but I love the sport and when the season starts I get a hankering to play FM. I've ordered FM2k8 but will probably hold off opening it until another patch comes out. From reading the 'Whats keeping me going in 08' thread and 'Having problems w/ FM2k8' thread I can see the game still needs a bit of work.
Anyways, when I first found the forums a few weeks back I saw the LLM board and came straight here. Then I read a few threads and saw some of the vets monkey-stomp some newbie tips post and what-not and immediately fell in love with the place. After reading the Rules and Guidelines I started up a new game. I won't mention my team or give any info yet because I just started my 2nd season but I will say that there have been a few times that I got so frustrated that I seriously considered putting my keyboard through my monitor!! My Wife on several occasions has questioned my sanity after hearing me 'yell' at my team and I'm in the 'Dungeon' also known as my basement. One such line was "Are you f****** kidding me?!! He shot the ball from 45 yards out and scored?! (yells goalies last name) get your ass of the field you f****** idiot!"
I've had quit a few of these situations of late to the point where I just laugh because it's hard to believe some of this **** happens. But when you see your tactics start to pay off or some obscure player your scout mentioned that happens to be a gold mine then you reach a 'Zen-like' state and everything seems to fall in place. That is of course until your crap goalie is caught picking his nose and lets another 35 yarder from the other teams 52 year old DMC!
Ah... yea... it hurts so much but I love these LLM rules!!

I've found myself saying many a similar line & then having to explain to anyone in earshot that yes I do understand it is only a game.
I know all about screaming at FM! I've had many in-class school instances where I'll cuss of the screen and put my head in my hands or jump out of my seat and punch the air, before realising that the rest of the class is staring at me. Such is the way of LLM.
