Guess your results have been delayed then theis | Yep, were supposed to be released today. Rang up the exam schools and they told me that they didn't know where they were but thought the examiners were still in a meeting over them so not to expect them until tomorrow at the earliest :thdn: </BLOCKQUOTE>
That's a bit disappointing. Still, suppose you've waited this long, so what's another couple of days

and iirc, if you want to go in the States, Vanderbilt is fabulous.
the only sticking point is the roughly 25,000 pounds a year you'd have to pony up.
| Would I have to pay equally high fees (I live in Britain) if I wanted to go to any half decent college in America? </BLOCKQUOTE>no - that is a figure that includes everything (food, housing, books) and does not include any grants, scholarships, or loans.
also, private universities (which is every university in the top 25 save for Michigan, Virginia, UC-Berkeley, and UCLA imo) are MUCH more expensive than public schools. the University of Georgia, tuition-wise, would actually be free for me.

| Varies massively from course to course. At Oxford for something like Chemistry/Biology its about 40% of applicants get a place. For economics and management its about 11% of applicants get a place.
Overall the rate is about 25% which in comparison to American unis it would appear is very high.

i'd imagine the proportion of applicants for oxbridge is a hell of a lot lower though.
not sure why, just think it to be the case.

i'd imagine a greater proportion of applicants to universities in america apply to the top universities, compared to the number of applicants in britain applying to oxbridge.
