It's funny who Oxbridge end up selecting. Just over half the people in my school got in, but some of the brightest didn't get offers while there were some real surprises.

One of my friends had straight A* and A at IGCSE, and predicted AAAA for A-level (which he got). Was on the athletics, basketball and football teams, and was one of those kids that everyone respected because he was really nice and always willing to do things to people. Apparently they ripped him up in the interview. Then we had this girl who had mediocre IGCSEs (mostly B's) and went for the hell of it, but got an offer (to be fair she got the AAB they asked for). Although now she's an english teacher somewhere crap (was never her dream) and he went to LSE and is now some big shot finance dude.

Also had another guy who had an offer of DD for Cambridge (Obviously he got it).

Had a letter from York this morning offering me an interview so after sending my application off like 12 days ago, I've already heard from my top 3, one of which will be my firm choice. Quite proud tbh.
