If you do want to study abroad then some (maybe most) will allow you to go and do a module or a year abroad on some courses.

I'd agree. Do what I did and move to London having finished uni and having gotten a job. So then you can actually afford to go out and stuff.

And I'd say Manchester would be a better student city than Leeds, purely as I originally come from Manchester. Either way I'm sure both are better as a student than London.

Anyone from these universities......

Imperial
Warwick
Bath
Southampton
Manchester

These should be the 5 that I apply to when I send off my application next week (damn school made-up deadlines )

anyway can someone advise me against/for these unis. I'm applying for maths, with all things going to plan ill get AAAB but might get AABB; going to study mathematics.

The above is ruffly the order of my choices but warwick/imperial is questionable.

I considering going state side but couldn't arsed sorting it all in the end. Plus, there is no way I can afford it..foreign students get no financial backing from their system, from what I read. </BLOCKQUOTE>

I wanted to do exactly the same, absolutely no chance of affording it though

Dunno what its like for undergraduate studies. I stayed in the UK to do that, but for what i'm trying to get next, going abroad is a must, as a globally recognised MBA is only worht doing. Its not worth doing an unknown one, as the companies only recruit from specific schools.

Likewise some countries will focus on certain Business schools in their country.

In the UK there are only a few business schools which seem worthwhile due to its brand recognition these are :-

London Business School - the clear number 1 - average salary of $135,522 post-mba - MBA costs £45k

Cambridge: Judge - $127,418 MBA costs £30k

Oxford: Said - 127,966 MBA costs £28k

Manchester Business School - 106,913 MBA costs £31k

The Top US schools are even more intense, but they are usually 2 year course, but 1 person in Wharton finished his MBA and landed a job worth $320k ... this does not include signing on bonuses and Course reimbursement costs, which some employers will also offer.

Hoista, what about Tanaka, Cass, Cranfield and Warwick? I was under the impression their programmes were up there with the best of them (with the exception of LBS).

People I've spoke to have said the same too. Mind you that's still only a few of us so I doubt it is actually the case.
