Applied for Maths :cool:at Oxford, Warwick, Imperial, UCL and Bath. I'm post-A-level so hoping to get some nice unconditional offers :p Would have preferred to apply for Cambridge for Maths but I'm not that good, bit annoyed that there's a 3 day interview for Oxford but if I can get in that would be awesome. In all honesty I wish I'd chosen the right course last year gone to uni this year instead of rushing into wrong decisions.

After changing my mind every couple of weeks since July I think I'm set on studying law.
Got AAA in AS and it looks like they'll be my predictions for next year.
Thinking about applying for:
Nottingham (LNAT) AAA
Birmingham/Bristol (LNAT) AAA
Cardiff/Manchester AAA
Liverpool/Hull AAB
Undecided ABB
Think that gives me a pretty good range, i'm fairly confident that I'd do well in the LNAT but applying for one that doesn't need it should keep me covered on both fronts.
Slightly worried about that fact that I'm not applying for any BBB uni's. Gonna actually have to do some work :/

I went for Trinity in the end although it may as well have been any. I've heard that a lot of people don't end up in there chosen college and it was almost a random choice anyway.

Just in case this helps anyone. From when I looked around uni's a year or so ago, these were my thoughts:
Brighton - just naff
Hull - good but such a **** hole (brother's mate says something similar)
Aston - unfriendly and horrible buildings but is probably an awesome uni
Lancaster (where I am now) - great buildings and atmosphere, college set up is cool, sporting side seems a little worse than I was expecting but there are plenty of teams so it's alright I guess and i heard they are building new sport facilities soon. The city is good enough, no Manchester or Nottingham but it has everything you will need. Basically, come here!

also, it may be because I don't live in cambridge, but when ever I go there (which is quite often) I love it. seems a brilliant place to me and I really want to live there for a while one day.

| ok, trinity is a pretty nice college. I was at St Peter's and whilst I thought it was amazing I'd actively tell people not to apply there as the current master is doing his best to stifle any sort of social life there.

For those of you thinking of doing maths, I'd really recommend going for applied over pure, unless you have a specific interest in a particular branch of pure maths and you want to go into academia. Pure is more interesting at A-levels but it's vastly different at degree level and a lot of people lose their interest in it as it gets more abstract and loses physical meaning.

whs slampa said, given the liberal arts slant that US undergraduate education has, I had the freedom to dabble in a lot of disciplines last year.
I didn't enjoy linear algebra, which is based on abstraction and proofs. not fun stuff.
