Well I've made my decision and am going to be applying to Cambridge if I get the results. It was surprisingly difficult to decide but the fact that there's an aptitude test at Oxford has tipped the balance. I figure if I get good grades, i don't want to risk jeopardising that record by putting myself through another test. If I don't get good grades, I shouldn't be applying anyway. If I fail to get in and want to reapply, I may wll go for Oxford next year as I'll have the whole summer and autumn to solely concentrate on the aptitude test and prepare myself perfectly as opposed to now where, despite it being the summer holidays, I've got about 3 different major academic 'lines' to pursue (essentially, 3 separate reading lists). So yeah, Trinity, Cambridge it is for me (as well as my other 4 unis). Hopefully I'll get the results now...
Boo. Although I didn't realize Oxford now have an aptitude test for History.
The best of luck with your application to Cambridge even if it is the wrong university

"Cons
- You'll work harder at Oxbridge than anywhere else in England
- There are more privately educated kids than anywhere else (50% at Oxford)"
Lol, exactly what's wrong with a high proportion of privately educated people?
In terms of what unit to apply for, simply apply to what suits you best, and most importantly what is realistic, especially with one less choice this year.
Reputation tends to be tiered, so if you're pedantic, you shouldn't be.

I think I'm looking at AAB in the three AS subjects I'm keeping for A2. Was aiming for AAA but struggled in the 2 economics exams I did last month. Luckily I got a really high B in my first module in January so it should average out at a B.
However I messed up my Computing AS which I was hoping to finish with a B in, now I'll probably get a C if I'm very lucky.
I'll also already have a full A Level in Critical Thinking, which isn't held in the same regard as other subjects but should count for something.
Looking to study Law in London. Hoped for UCL/LSE but they all want 3 As. I know KCL wants AAB and so does Westminster which is emant to be good for law. Looked around a bit outside London at places like Warwick and York aswell.
I'm doing law at Kings so if you have any questions just let me know

Although being the best Uni going, does anyone not find Cambridge as a place to be incredibly dull? I much prefer Oxford. However I dislike Oxford's Arch-Anth course and thus I won't be applying for either (If I even got the grades that is.)
Think I'm pretty certain I'll apply for UCL, Edinburgh, Manchester, Durham and SOAS. If anyone goes to any of these places and would like to tell me a wee bit about what they're like that'd be grand

Nottingham, Cardiff, Birmingham and Manchester are all being considered atm. Although I really can't say until august 16th when I get my results. Need to know what i'm aiming for.
If I get poor results, yes it's possible for me to do better, but surely a uni that needs AAA would see for example BBB and think that I am not good enough?
