Heh, I'd hardly say a different league. Whilst traditionally Cambridge has been the better uni for sciences I'd argue that the gap is pretty small now (although maybe with Cambridge edging it).

I was under the impression it was way ahead, that's certainly the case for Mathematics.

At post graduate level there is probably a bigger difference.
For under graduate level however I would assume that the standard of teaching is pretty similar at both uni's. They both work you hard and at that level the fact that the cambridge tutor is one of the top 5 in the world and the Oxford tutor one of the top 50 in the world shouldn't make much of a difference.
I doubt many employers/post grad courses are going to distinguish heavily between an undergraduate science/maths course from Oxford or Cambridge.

Anyone know what Brighton and Sussex is like? I could probably walk straight into Brighton as it stands but Sussex is a much better uni, will probably get in there aswell. How far away from the main town are they both?

na, it's not like that. it's like you're really smart but don't like doing work that's beneath you.

Well I've made my decision and am going to be applying to Cambridge if I get the results. It was surprisingly difficult to decide but the fact that there's an aptitude test at Oxford has tipped the balance. I figure if I get good grades, i don't want to risk jeopardising that record by putting myself through another test. If I don't get good grades, I shouldn't be applying anyway. If I fail to get in and want to reapply, I may wll go for Oxford next year as I'll have the whole summer and autumn to solely concentrate on the aptitude test and prepare myself perfectly as opposed to now where, despite it being the summer holidays, I've got about 3 different major academic 'lines' to pursue (essentially, 3 separate reading lists). So yeah, Trinity, Cambridge it is for me (as well as my other 4 unis). Hopefully I'll get the results now...
