Just curious, but what makes Asterix Belgian? - both the creators (René Goscinny & Albert Uderzo) are French, and the character is a Gaul.
The story was created while they were living in Paris for their own magazine (Pilote) after forming their own companies (Edifrance and Edipresse).
Hercule Poirot is a character with Belgian nationality, but he was created by an English author so isn't really Belgian at all.

Alan Hanson
Remy Belvaux
if anyone could tell me who they are it'd be great...
Alan Hanson is probably supposed to be Alan Hansen, a former Liverpool and football player.
If so, he's not Belgian anyway - he's Scottish.
Rémy Belvaux
Pascal White

Whoops! 'Potato Waffles' and 'Belgian Waffles' are American but waffles are indeed Belgian.

Maastricht isn't in Belgium!

Musically, I know of the band 'Front 242'and the record label 'Play It Again Sam', but didn't know which question they should belong to.

after some research, you're right about asterix. I always thought Uderzo was belgian but it seems he just lived here and started the comic books here.

my bad, credit goes to the french

oh and about poirot: the question was "things that you associate with belgium" and apparently hercule poirot is known well in England

thx for explaining hansen as well, although i don't see why some people replied this...
