Cleaning out the computer/study room to make way for my girls desire for a bedroom for herself away from her younger brother, and I come accross my old tactic sheets from CM01/02.
Thought to be lost long ago in a previous house move, the revilation of finding these sheets can only be compared to finding the CM equivilant of the Rosetta stone. Many a time have I loaded CM01/02 only to look at the std tactics, start fiddling, forget how to do it all, give up, start again next week, rinse, repeat, and then delete said game from harddrive as it all got too hard.
So loaded game up (all 26 leagues :eek, went to the tactic screen, played around for 2 hours, forget how to do it all, gave up, have a further go last night, then sigh, and delete game from harddrive, as it all got too hard.
WTF?.....Seems this old fella an't got the patience for making tactics anymore. Worse of all, the game seemed so, umm, clunky, and old & wrinkly like my old fella. Maybe it would of been better that I didn't find those sheets cause I can't see how I will ever load CM01/02 onto my computer again.
Rest in peace little CD...You gave me many a days pleasure.
I think the last season with the wibble/wobbles was the only time that I have ever had any success with my tactics. I have struggled tactically ever since and still hate SI for taking them away.
Yeah, wibble/wobble was quite fun to play with, but i'm pretty sure the current tactical system (with its shortcomings) is a lot more realistic.
That said, i think i'll have another go at 00/01 when i visit my parents next. The computer there is a relic from 1999 so i still have got it installed i think.
