The game allows it, it is used in Slovenia in LL football as there are not many scouts in 3rd and lower tiers. How this applies elswhere?

I consider it very realistic.
Due to the lack of scouts and nobody applying for the job for a whole season I have had to rely on my Assistant and my coach.
It seems emminently resonable to me, IRL, that a manager would ask his asssistant to give him a report on a player in the news, or even to watch him a few times and improve the information on the player as a possible purchase.

How I play is I would have my scout(s) scouting where ever they could. If I see a player mentioned in the news or who ripped me apart in the league, I might have a look at them and perhaps send my scout out for a 1 match report depending on how long I had left till deadline day. That's my "wiggle" room so to speak. :o
I stay away from looking through club screens, like League 2 reserves or U18's.

Oi new Yank.
Get us a round of beer before you continue, it's one of them unwritten guidelines for the LLM forum |

Firstly, priorities....
*round of beer to all*
As for soccer, well, that's what we call it and I'd have no trouble switching to football, but we use that for something else here. Go Patriots!
Thanks all for the welcome and tips. I'll limit my player-specific scouting orders to offers, media hits, standouts on opposing teams, and of course, the players discovered by my scouts when out on general assignment.
Staff hirings, I'll use the Job Centre (should be Center. *dives for cover*).
I just randomized a new manager until my first ECN or ECS assignment and got Sutton, which looks like to be in pretty good shape to start with.
We'll see how things turn out. Thanks again everyone.

Oh, and one other clarification request. In re-reading the thread after my last post, I got the feeling that maybe sending your scouts out to scout england, for example, wasn't appropriate.
Since the board governs scouting range, I had assumed it was ok to send my scout out on such assignments. Is that not the case for LLM?

Their tailback has the ability to win a game on his own, and the all time league leader in TDs (who happens to be a "slot back" ie a receiver who plays in the slot position) is a big play kind of guy. In order for them to win, though, they need to control the ball on the ground, in order to open up the Argos secondary.
I do think that the defence has what it takes. They held the Argos offence to two points in their last meeting. Unfortunately for the Bombers, special teams cost them that game.
For the record, though, I'm not originally from Winnipeg, and my team is the Edmonton Eskimos. Though the Bombers have become a team I cheer for in th absence of the Esks (for only the second time in my life they've missed the playoffs, the first being last year!)
Now to get back on topic...I still call "soccer" football, and just use CFL/NFL for the corresponding gridiron equivalents over here.
And you're definitely allowed to scout the entire country, if that's what the board enables you to do. If they allow you to scout Scotland, there's no sense in wasting their time or your money, though |
