Better to replace it now, when you can recover your data than when it dies completely.

Will. Try this....
Go to www.acronis.com/mag/pcanswers-ati8pe
If you need to answer questions, answer them and you can register it free of charge. You will get a serial number to enter during installation. (However...the actual install may be on the disk provided with PCAnswers July 2007 edition which costs £5.99 so unsure which you'll have to do - either try downloading it from the link or buy the mag. You can then back up your existing hard drive.

Running really low on disk space on my C: drive so went to defrag it but it said I couldn't because there was not enough free space and it needs 15% free to run.
So, are there any ways I can free up a few GBs of space to run the defrag apart from removing any programs on there?

If you're getting a new pc then imo you should definitely get it
| tbh i might have spoken too soon . The display seems to have stretched past the edges of the screen and the resolution is generally messed about. I have tried installing the latest drivers etc. but that hasn't seemed to work very well.
Does anyone know of any tricks? Will it be the graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS) or the monitor (sony SDM-HS75)?

Try Disk cleanup and see what crap that brings up.
Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools-> Disk Cleanup.
Try deleting stuff you don't need in My Received Files as well.
