Okay, so I was looking at buying a new PC and although I'm alright with most kinds of software I am pretty much clueless at the hardware side. So, simple question, if I was to purchase a 2.4ghz Quad Core does that mean it is a 2.4ghz PC or a 10ghz PC?

And does this mean that unless I'm using software specifically designed for quad technology, I will essentially be using a 2.4ghz PC?
Wasn't quite finished.
