What is overclocking?
tweaking components such as processors or graphics cards to faster speeds than they were intended to be run at. I also believe RAM can be tweaked as well.
The core2duo is good for overclocking apparently

this is a good guide for building a system and the benefits of overclocking
I myself have never tried to but usually settings are changed in the bios on the motherboard. However due to the higher speeds the components need better cooling and a higher voltage to run.
Personally i find the whole thing very complicated. You also run the risk of making the system unstable.

Well OTF, it was great knowing you all. But, I'm going to install Ubuntu on my desktop PC in a few minutes so I might only be back during lunchtime if it all goes Pete Tong

Right i have a question. Do PC fans speed up when its getting too hot or do they remain at the same speed? Mine started making a louder noise earlier, and it was boiling in my room
