When I say "old" I mean games that have been out a good few years, and that have had sequels since, but you still play the old versions.
Personally I still play Call Of Duty: 2 online on the PC, Medal of Honour: Allied Assault (which is very old now tbf), and even sometimes Red Alert 2
I've never bothered getting the newer versions simply because I still enjoy playing them online, I enjoy knowing all the ins and outs of the certain maps and all the tactics (especially MOH:AA on the scenario maps) and because there still seems to be plenty of people playing online, theres no need to upgrade?
I've played the new Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare demo, and while it does look amazing, I think the modern weapons will take way from the online experience. Guns with laser sights, night vision, guns with grenade launchers, makes the game all a bit too easy to get a kill/frag. Give me a carbine anyday, much more skill needed
I still go back to the first Unreal Tournament sometimes but more recently I've delved into playing Deus Ex online and it's actually quite fun (albeit in a comparitively limited way).
Its got something to do with my pc upgrades I think. I had a well old pc and then a laptop straight after which wasnt very powerful. I'd had all these games as presents but my pc's weren't powerfull or good enough to play them.
Had a new pc about a year ago which was top of the range then and still pretty damn good now so I guess I've been catching up a lot.
