You could not possibly racially profile white people for such drastic action in Britain. They make up around 90% of the population and stripsearching and making their lives uncomfortable in Britain would be unworkable because not only would it be a colossal waste of time, the people doing it would also be of the very same group you are profiling.
They are the norm.
But you CAN racially profile and harass en masse a group like Islamic people, Chinese, African etc... because they are a smaller group who stand out against everyone else.
In short, they look "foreign" to the norm and you can quite easily sell the lazy idea that everybody of that group should suffer.
Xenophobia and racism makes that easy.

So, in your world, the only reason why these minority groups (or a minority group) would be racially profiled is because we can? Because it's easy? No 'real' reason really?
You really make it sound that the only reason for racially profiling minorities is satisfying the lust to be rascist.
Don't get me wrong, i fully understand that you believe it but for the growing group of people not blinded by the hollow phrases and slogans of the PC-Ideology the threat of Islam to our way of life becomes more and more evident.
Since i've been answering questions till now mabye you (or Cranker for that matter) could explain to me this:
Why, on the one hand, are so concerned about the civil rights & liberties of said minority groups whilst, on the other hand, showing so little consideration for those of the victims of their terror attacks (and violence in general)?
You believe 54 people getting blown up in London, 191 in Madrid is a price worth paying for the right of a minority group not to to strip searched by police based on his / her ethic background.
I don't know what criterium you use to favour one set of human rights above the other (i know it fits perfectly with the 'down-with-us'-doctrine that is a pillar in your Ideology) and frankly i don't really care. We could debate about that for ever (just like that that stupid who's right-or-wrong-thing) without getting to any form of consensus on it.
Like i said earlier: It all comes down to priorities and society's (also in Britain) views on what they should be are shifting.
